I’m gonna say this again the rear entertainment package should be a NO-GO if you plan on keeping the vehicle for a long period of time

I will be installing this in my B7 in the Spring. The whole assembly is $500, but a very, very easy mod to do...
To make it fully functional, requires ESYS, as there ae a LOT of software modules that require to be updated so that it works with i-drive settings and HVAC. |

Yep my kids as well. The rear entertainment package sounds like a great idea until you realize that it’s no where near as functional as an iPad or tablet. If they ever break you might be SOL and if you try to remove them you’re stuck with an ugly obvious missing piece in the back seat

Resale to a private party in the future could be more difficult as well if you have the rear entertainment package

I drove an M5 before the M760. Theoretically the M5 is a very close analog to the B7 power, and it’s in a lighter chassis too. I found the M5 low end torque and response a disappointment. The M760 delivers max torque at ~1500 RPM to ~redline. It’s literally always there and near instant.
For what it’s worth, there are at least 3 vendors for turning upgrades on the V12, all three will support 740+ HP & 800 Ft/Lb with no other supporting mods. |

They do NOT support video transfer, or I've not come across any documentation that supports using these ports that support hanging a display on one end and a video source on the other. It would require a bit of "tucking" but you could rewire the seat USB-C connectors directly to the center console, and you'd be good to go. Last edited by M_Bimmer; 12-30-2023 at 05:14 PM.. |

On the G12 LCI, there is a USB-C tucked at the bottom of the center console, right next to the 12V socket.....on the pre-LCI, there are two 12V sockets.

Yes, that I know, but my concern is that there are no slots to nicely mount the BMW factory ipad/tablet holder, or any other device, like you can find in the X5 and X7…. Hence any aftermarket tablet/ipad would not to be mounted in an ugly fashion using the metallic bars of the headrest or so.. Doesn’t look good, and that’s not to mention the fact you need to wire it all the way down to the USB slots location….. The X7 and X5 have the mounting slot as well as USB C right there at the back of the seat….. That’s one reason I wanted the factory rear seat entertainment because of the cosmetic aspect. Fire TV connected to those screens would make the factory screens a great solution (beside the fact I can control them from the front if I use USB drive with movies or so)…. I don’t know, I’ll think about it.

I now I'm pretty particular on the options that should be included with a +$150K vehicle. I'm looking at 911's and I don't know who configured these vehicles...can you believe that a +$200K 911 may still have pleather door cards and pleather dashboard? And the wheels are horrific on most of them. I'd like to get an LCI G12 B7 or G12 ///M760 as well, so I'm shopping around for these vehicles too....offerings are slim. Post what ever vehicle you end up with... Cheers Last edited by M_Bimmer; 12-31-2023 at 12:28 AM.. |

Not sure if it can be fitted to X5 or X7, as there needs to be pre existing ducting to indirect air outlets and dispenser mounting spaces in glove compartment. |

BTW, did it already on my old F10 to add 4-zone...see 1st picture. While it was time consuming, it wasn't too hard. It required a different air distribution box, one that has 13 stratification flaps, instead of the standard 7. No screws left over and no squeaks afterwards. 2nd picture is before, 3rd picture is afterwards. Last edited by M_Bimmer; 12-31-2023 at 05:56 PM.. |

What speed do you usually go to get that 22 mpg? For my LCI x7, I am able to get the advertised highway mpg of 25 when traveling 75 mph. There was one time when I ACC’ed behind someone going about 60 mph I got 30 mpg for that trip which was 95% highway. |

I've seen MPG in the upper 20's stuck behind people, but I tend to work my way past them most of the time. I'm sure a person could get 25+ on a regular basis if they drove it purposefully to do so - but that wouldn't' be very fun. Last edited by chad86tsi; 12-31-2023 at 11:06 PM.. |
