Yeah I guess so, but they both have the same "premium badge" factor here in Indonesia. A 3-series sells twice as much as a C-class, even the new one is still outsold by the BMW, and a 5-series sells more by a small margin to the E-class, but there's more S-class than 7-series here. Many would still buy Japanese over those cars, though.

...between what two cars...if you're referring to the S/7 there's more than a small difference.

The 7. But SWB only. I hate looking like the chauffer/valet boy.

I really comes down to a preference in looks.
Sure the new 7 has a bunch of crazy cool new features, but to the average driver it will be about looks and not much more.

I'm personally not crazy about the S-Class's looks. They're good, but not great.

It's only acceptable in AMG form. I hate the wheel arches on all models though. They look tacky, but a little more acceptable with AMG kit since it blends in. Rear lights are fugly too. Facelift will improve it, still not brilliant but def better: The new front with quad fogs just got uglier though! The front bumper is better, LED front lights are cool and I think an angular grille is better too. I just hate those quad fogs though. Here are comparison pics:

Here's a PS of them next to eachother (thats the facelift S-class btw):
I think they look about equal there! I still think the quad fogs are ugly though and the 7 kills the S's interior and pretty much the rest of the body looks better too.

Ok, WTF. Not cool with the quad fogs (I criticized WALD's aftermarket bumper similar to this). I'm glad they got rid of that weird line than runs beneath the headlights though. They replaced it with subtle creases it looks like. Hmm, new wheels. Looks like they changed the mirrors (for better or worse I'm not quite sure yet). They added a (now pre-requisite) faux diffuser to the rear now. No changes to the rockers. And of course, like all facelifts nowadays, the brightwork gets brighter. LEDs for the tails, and I guess the halogen inner bulb in the headlights gets replaced with another HID bulb. Oh and the orange markers are slightly smaller. Can't spot much else that's different, but it's surprising to see how well the design holds up against the new 7 side-by-side. It still looks modern. I'm glad, considering older S-Class models looked out of date pretty quickly.

+1 on everything as usual lol...
I also like the new bumper. It has depth to it instead of huge triangular (ugly) fog lights. It is a little predictable though and just like the 7s pretty simple bumper. Just hate those quad fogs though! Its so stupid. If I find more on this new S I'll post it here.

The S class is the big bully of this bunch....I admit that others are getting close in terms of sales #s but the vast majority of ppl that are in the market for a limo choose the S-class. Its got enormous brand equity and is tried and tested. People spending that kind of money need something that ticks all the right boxes and forgive my impudence but the S class does exactly that and all of the other 3 limos are just wannabes and try too hard.

S class without a doubt (if your looking for a luxury vehicle).. 750 doesnt even come close to a s550. My parents had both, S is by far more luxury from suspensions to comfort to how quiet it is.
