Of course, the Volvo enthusiasts will justify everything Volvo does. They could sell a literal bag of trash and they would buy it for the "Swedishness"

Volvo is still more Volvo being owned by a Chinese company than BMW is, BMW has completely lost their way what is your opinion on that.

Nonsensical financial decision making there.

Being Japanese, cheap, below prime rate all the time, generous warranty, approval for anyone who can sign a name on a piece of paper are all reasons.

This is a great read if you have interest in understanding Zhejiang Geely Holding Group and their future.

I don't like some of BMW's design decisions, but I have NEVER liked Volvo. It was my first car (a hand-me-down) and every moment driving it sucked.

I get were people get their affinity for all things Volvo. Their history from the 122, 140, 144S, P1800 to the V70 deserves respect (except for the 164 turkey). Not to mention their success in non automotive business's. That was then, change of ownership is now, so all bets are off. In this rapidly changing environment every car company is only as good as their current offering and that includes BMW.

I'd honestly take a new volvo over most of BMW's range right now. BMW's design language is absolutely awful on most models.

We're calling BMW's reliable now? This is a company that had no clue how to make a water pump.

A BMW (or you can substitute your favorite car brand) will leave one stranded just the same. It is clear you do not care for Volvo (or Android apparently) and that is okay. Opinions and options are the beautiful thing that allows us to pick what we prefer. I personally would pick a current gen S60 over a 330, but that is me.

Yes, just like Lotus. They both sold out to the China. Sweden is borderline communist so probably wasn’t a stretch to believe it was a good deal for Geely to bail Volvo out. But surprised Lotus would do that. I realize a company has to have money if they want to continue doing what they do, but at some point they lose control. These are ways Chinese are trying to get into the western car markets since generally their organic brands are either not as good or are tainted simply for being Chinese.

Volvo stopped making their best car. My last car, a V60 T5. I ran it from new for 3 years. Extremely comfortable and capable, and in my eyes an extremely attractive design.

Volvo is for people who don't start sentences with so I was...Great design outdated tech but good cars/suvs overall. Problem wise I had allot less repairs in my p2 R compared to e90 and f10. New ones under new ownership can't say but they don't look like clickbait 💩
