Has anyone else noticed that the red m4's passenger door color doesn't match the rest of the car. I mean it probably does match but it looks darker than the rest of the car in all pictures probably because of the lighting

I couldn't disagree more with your first sentence. The overall lineup is really something special to me. For my taste, I don't know what a car company can do to put a more complete, exciting, beautiful lineup together. If you don't like BMW styling, I get it. Some people don't. But BMW sales are amazing and the photos shown in the OP show what BMW has done to reach a bunch of different markets with an amazing group of products. If you don't like the 2-series Active Tourer is understandable. Many BMW enthusiasts are rear wheel drive folks. I, personally, would never buy it. But, in other parts of the world this is exactly what is selling. BMW knows it and has a product to compete in that market. You can look at these photos and call it one of the worst looking? Were you under a rock with the E60 was launched and the 7 series looked looked like a cruise ship with a bad butt. Let me guess, you thought Chris Bangle was a genius. |

You do realize that BMW builds cars for the world market don't you? While the 2 active tourer might not make sense in Texas, it makes perfect sense in other parts of the world. I'm sure there some European forum showing the Ford lineup with comments about the ridiculous* F-150 and yet it sells pretty well in Texas. * I don't really think the F-150 is ridiculous. It just doesn't fit in the world market while its right at home in the US. |

Awesome display by BMW .
Superbe coverage and report @Dacklone ! Thank you. I actually really like the entire BMW current line up despite my pre-conceived ideas. Loving the 530 touring and the topless 4. Thanks for all the wonderful pics! Last edited by DrivenByE30; 09-21-2015 at 11:14 AM.. |

I first visited Europe (London) 18 years ago and have been a regular subscriber to Car and Evo ever since. On each of my visits to Europe, I love to look at the cars we don't get here. I am fully aware of the majority of the lineup for most manufacturers that sell in Europe. I'm not sure too many people in the US could tell you what a Citroen Cactus is. Or that a Megane R26R sports perspex rear windows and is considered to be a FWD GT3. Or that for some reason a Skoda Yeti is an immensely popular car. So I definitely understand that there is a bigger market outside of the US. My comment did not say anything about making sense. I said it's ugly, and it is, I'm sorry. It's not all that great of a design. To be honest, I'd probably forgo a mini-MPV altogether and just buy a 3 nice estate from either BMW or Merc, or if I couldn't afford it, VW, Skoda or Ford. Because the Mini-MPV it tough to get looking anything stylish. But if I had to choose one, I'd probably go for the B-Class. It's just better executed, IMO. Ugly does not correlate to utility. Same way in Pickups. A new F-150 is not ugly for a pickup. The new Titan XD is. The 2 Active Tourer is just an awkward and ungainley looking design, even for a small MPV. There are better executed designs out there. |

The new 7 is incredible. I want one.
I cannot describe in words how completely stupid and hideous that 2 Active Tourer is. Someone at BMW needs to drive a stake through its heart and put that whole dumb experiment to an end. |

Didn't mean to offend at all. I know that Texas has has more than pick up trucks. I was using it as an example of how different the needs/wants of one market are from another. Thanks for sharing that you are knowledgeable the European car market and you understand that BMW has to offer car like the 2 active tourer. I wasn't picking up on the fact that you meant its ugly compared to the other cars in that class. You make a good point; its not gorgeous. It may not be to your liking but it will probably sell like hotcakes anyway. |
