Good thing is that as soon as new heads are installed they should be able to tell if it’s fixed or not (ISTA can track the minor/partial misfies or less than ideal combusion, before that starts to cause obvious vibrations).
Wow! It’s been a recurring issue for this problem. They’ve tried various solutions, including motor mounts, plugs, and fuel injection cleaners. I finally connected BimmerLink to the car and noticed random misfires in the cylinders. Although the misfires weren’t enough to trigger a code, they were severe enough for me to feel them. I shared this information with the Master Technician, who eventually witnessed the issue after hours of troubleshooting. Hopefully, this time, the problem will be telling. It’s crazy how I was able to assist with just BIMMERLINK. Also, I’ve made a complaint about this to “NHTSA” just recently, for what it’s worth.

100% SAME EXACT THING.
8 new spark plugs, all 8 injectors, all 8 coils, PVC system check, nothing fixed it until cylinders heads were replaced.

Be careful though about BIMMERLINK. Yry it on a brand new loaner and it would also show misfiring. ISTA is much better for tracking real misfires or bad combustion events.

Okay, great heads up about BimmerLink. Just an update: the master tech informed me that the BMW engineers wanted him to replace the spark plug, which was done less than 2,000 miles ago. For some strange reason, they also wanted photos of the catalytic converter. Perhaps they are building on a prerequisite for something larger?

I got the digital mirror installed yesterday (2026 750e). total cost was approximately 1700 (part was 1K and the rest was labor). Looks like it did take them most of the day to get it done. I don't have the rear theater system but I do like to use the rear shade (which to my surprise is a total black out shade). It's very good but I'm not sure it's much better than a regular mirror yet. I think it takes a little time to adjust to using it, but I can use the rear shade all the time now.

I'll update on how it works in the real world in a few weeks.

Congrats! I have the rear TV screen and in retrospect it was a waste. I always drive with the rear shade so looking forward to getting the digi mirror. Please keep us posted on if you find it useful.

As of now, they still have the vehicle. I’m trying to give them some space on it but Monday I’ll call to see what I can dig up. Last I heard was they were working with engineers.

Should be a standard option for the theater system. Can't use the regular mirror when the screen is down.

Agreed. It makes absolutely no sense. I don't understand how's it even legal.

Agreed. Completely unacceptable at the price point/class of car.

The legal requirement is two have at least 2 mirrors, so as long as you have side mirrors, a rearview mirror is not required.

Hi, is this only for those who have the theater package? Is it possible to install that retrofit on cars without the theater package?

Yeah, see the formal BMW instructions that I shared in a previous post on page 1 of this thread.
It doesn’t matter.

Yes, thank you so much for that information. The description says, “A car with the teather package built before or after this date… not anything for those who don’t have the teather package, and I was confused.” Trying to double check

So that file was pulled based on my car VIN, so it is specific to cars with theatre.. but if I were to ask my dealer to pull the info based on a VIN for a car that does NOT have that theatre package, it would have printed likely the same exact steps with different note on page-1 for the package.

If you want to be sure, go and visit your service dept and ask them to give you an estimate for the job and ask them for a copy of the steps.

I just did that to share the steps with folks here.

You’re very welcome.
This is a great forum, free of trolls, with good users that I benefited from all the time, and great mods too.. It’s good to be a contributor, at least once, around great folks like this.
