Then again there are plenty of idioms that make absolutely no sense at all . One of my favorites is "I could care less."

"I couldn't care less" makes perfect sense to me. One's "level of caring" is necessarily at a minimum if one cannot possibly care less.

"I could care less" implies that on a scale of 1 (doesn't care at all) to 10 (cares a lot), one's level of caring could be anywhere from 1.000000001 to 10. If you care the maximum possible amount, then yes, you can care less. If your care level is at at 9, then yes, you can care less.

Now I'd say that's a successful derailment....

I could care less about this derailment.
Given the inertia of my state of a potential ability to care less, I could care less only a little bit more.

Why do people want kids?

One reason is:

Because they (i) have seen enough of their (my) lives (life) as single, they (i) are (am) willing to trade the uncertainties (excitements) of the next 30/40 years trying to find and define themselves (myself) for the uncertainties and excitements of the beaten path of parenthood, where they (i) can shape and "control" another being.

I wake up whenever I want, typically not in the middle of the night due to crying. When I wake up, I walk around naked flailing my willy around while making waffles. My fridge is primarily filled with filet, lobster tails, beer, and pickles. I go out any time of day or night without having to find a babysitter. I tend to go golfing a couple days a week, but if I'm feeling lazy I'll play on the weekend before I take a trip to the beach to gauk at all the hunnies. Then I lather, rise, and repeat.

I'm sure the "life with a kid" is great for many, but not for all.

Let's discuss why people LOVE eating pie, not perhaps not necessarily cake.

Go.

I can get a bite of pie on a fork without the whole pie turning over on its side. Because of that, pie>cake.

I don't eat a lot of desserts especially pies and cakes but I can go through a box of cheese danishes from Sam's Club bakery.

I never was a cake fan. I was frankly never a desert person in the first place. But ever since I turned 30, damn, I cannot stay away from the sweet stuff. Apple pie, cherry pie, cheesecake, and my new favorite, buttermilk pie. DAMN.

When my parents visit from Belgium, they always bring chocolate. If you haven't had Cote d'Or yet, I say buy some. Best chocolate in the world. I will destroy and entire package.

I'm partial to both.

What about Creme Brulee? Crumpets and tea, perhaps?

There should be a rule that no thread can go longer than 80 posts. At that point, every legitimate response has been offered and very little good comes of the following posts.
