Howdy
I'm somewhat new to the forum. In the past I've owned various E30s (325eS, 325iS). I currently drive an Alpine White 1995 318i (which I love), but am lusting after the 120d / 123d. The 135 sounds wonderful, but it is more car than I really need and at this stage in life (middle-aged, two kids), I'd rather get the decent mileage of a diesel.
Oh yeah, and the stump-pulling torque. My biggest requirements for a new BMW are:

Watcha!
I'm currently living in Switzerland, and driving a 350Z. I enjoy taking it to the track (like Spa Francorchamps or Nurburgring Norschleife). The 135i seems like a nice replacement: Better quality, similar weight, more easily tuneable, and room to carry 4 spare rims with semi-slicks  |

Hello! I wanted a 1 series in late 2004. Almost bought a Mazda RX-8, Mazda 3, 3-series, and a boyracer R32. I also liked the X3 with a manual. Well, my local dealer could not get my current X3 off the lot so - here I am today! I have always liked the idea of getting a BMW type car with close to Porsche performance for 35k. So, here I am in the endless pursuit of that idea!

Hello, I am Robert and I drive a 07 Civic. It is my commuter because my car was totaled last year. Originally I had plans for a E92 M3 but 135i seems like a better bang for the buck so I converted.

Hi there,
My name is Erich and drive what is possibly the most uninspiring car in the world. I currently drive a Mazda 626 that has been in our family for 15 years. And it's automatic... I have been saving the pennies for a car that I really wanted instead of buying another uninspiring car I could afford. I've been pretty much obsessed with Subaru's for the past six years, was anxiously awaiting the 08 STI now that I can afford it and along comes BMW with the 135i. Now I'm not so sure the STI is what I want anymore. |

Im sure we have all had our share of uninspiring cars, but now that your time has come to get a new one, since you can afford it, get the 1er, it will hold value well past that rally car:wink: |

Howdy - new member here...
Just returned my leased Imola Red 2004 330i ZHP. The car was sublime but frustrating because it had the 4,000 RPM flat spot. I thought I was going to get a 335i Coupe. Then I drove one. Numb, porky, no sense of speed, too big, etc. Soon after, the 1er Coupe was announced, so I said screw the 3er and am waiting for the 1er. Will probably do ED next summer. Looking forward to see how the car looks in silver. I suspect that being less conspicuous is the ticket with this car... |

Hello! My name is David and I currently drive a Mazda RX8 with the Mazdaspeed bits. GREAT CAR LOVE IT! However, I will be looking to purchase another car in about two years (or sooner) and the 1 seems to be the 1.
I have been reading and waiting for this to be released. I am about 80% sold on it, but want to see real world performance stats, then compare/contrast to what the next Rotary powered car does. Cheers! |

Hello, I have an 01 330ci. Previously I had an E36 325i and an E21 320i. Future will be either a 135i or an E30 ///M with an s52 motorswap.
The minute I drove my neighbors 325es back in 1988 when I was 16 and first got my liscense I KNEW bmw was the car for me. No doubt.

Hi, I've been a BMW fan since the E28 M5/E30 M3 days. I've owned a '99 M3 in Estoril Blue (special ordered), and currently drive a '99 BMW E47 328i Steel Blue with 137K miles modded for autocrossing. I hope I fit in the 135i as I want to make it my next car, preferrably in Montego Blue or LeMans Blue (depending on what we get in the U.S.). This forum name is really appropriate. I can't remember being so excited about a new BMW since I saw the E36 M3.
I also do daily links to car news for fun. It's called Redwood's Car news (shocking) and I've been doing it for a few years at: http://www.vorshlag.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=4 |

Hello!
Well, been addicted to BMWs for 7 years. Got my first bmw in 2000 and have been driving it ever since. It is an E36 328i and I do love it. But, with all the new BMWs out and especially the 135i, i'm itching to pick one up! Been lurking on this board for several weeks and by all means am a 1addict. I pondered the new 3 series but its just too big for my taste. I like the size of my E36 and believe the 1 will be just right for me as well. Maybe overkill to most to have two cars around the same size, but they will be drivin for different reasons.

Hey everybody! Can't wait to get in one of these little buggers!
I drive an 02 WRX and am an active member on NASIOC.com for the past 6 years. I see you guys have a nice 1er community going on here. That's one thing that I've really enjoyed about my Subaru. It felt tlike a little cult of car people that knew what was up. Everyone waved to each other on the street(at least at first, I still do). It's still good, but getting kinda diluted, for lack of a better word. Hopefully I can find some good info here. It seems that this is a good site. Hopefully we can even get some local\regional 1 series meets going when we actually have the cars. It'll be cool to see what everybody's doing. So, thanks to the admins/mods/members for the site! Be talking(typing) to you soon! |

Hi, I'm Lars. Been here for a few months now, just haven't had time to post much.
Been following the development of the "1-series" since 1996 when it was the "new 2002". I have a passion for 02s and am currently on my 4th one, the others offered up their parts to make this latest one run. Currently in the process of putting in a 5-speed. The 1-series is still a few years out for my, but it will be my next new car. Oh, and I live north of Brookside in KC. |

Hello everyone! I would like to start out by saying hi to everyone here.
My name is Victor and I am 19 years old in college. Well.....I previously owned a 2006 325i manuel and was a member in e90post.com. I had alot of fun with that car but I got involve in a really bad accident with only 8k mile on it. The car got totaled but I got out alive and now I am stuck with Toyota corolla S type. Well...in the future I am hoping to own a 135i for my own since I always wanted a 335i but didn't get to own it since my budget was limited. Well... I hope you all have a good day and if I have any news on the 1series, I will gladly share with everyone here |

Hello, my name is Kevin. I am also a fellow NASIOC'er (gforced). I came from an '04 STi and now I am in the research phase of my next car. Right now, I am deciding between the Evo X, STi and the 135i. I am waiting until after the first model year on these to allow the manufacturers to work out the bugs (realized this after my STi). I come from the FI background and did a lot of research about stuff when it came to upgrading my Subbie. Look forward to learning as much as possible on this board.
Thanks, Kevin - Madjack (the Pirate, best cartton ever) |
