How many tires do you go through with bad roads on 21'' B7?
Wondering if $4k for 4 years of wheel & tire protection is worth it? Can people who have the 21'' wheels (B7) weigh in...how many tires do you chew through in a typical year? And, what state do you live in?
Many thanks in advance for your input!! |

I don't have a B7 but have a M760i and I'll say you should absolutely get tire and rim package. The M760i with the V12 is definitely heavier than the B7 up front, but both are heavy cars in general. I've already had 1 front rim repaired and 1 replaced in a very short period of ownership. I have 20s and one rim cost $900 to replace. Plus $350 for the tire. A few hundred to repair the bend in the other. The Alpina 21s are even more expensive and seemingly softer.
If your roads are crap like mine here in MA, I would venture that you would get your money's worth with the insurance. Every person I've encountered with an Alpina has had many rim repairs or replacements. I do a much better job than most avoiding potholes and such but the peace of mind of any curb rash or bends/cracks not coming out of my pocket makes my ownership more enjoyable. |
