This was in reference to the person adding it after the fact. Not to people who have it factory installed where you have the setting to turn it on/off.

I have shadow line on 760i 2024 xdrive and have the illuminated grill. Though, I much prefer the car without it!

Yes, it can be disabled. Though, I think you need to do it each time you start it like with the auto stop start.

Sorry about the misinformation. I just tried and it seems like you cannot turn the grill off. If you need the headlights on, the grill turns on too. You can keep the sidelights on only, the grill then turns off, but then you got no headlights.

My wife has an i5 and she has the ability to turn hers off.

I’m actively researching this, as of now I’ve contacted BMW to find out if this is even possible, legitimately. I’ve also contacted a 3rd party and they’ve confirmed through email that it can be done through remote programming after the hardware is in place.

I am waiting to hear back from the engineers they are trying to figure out exactly what is needed and if the harness has to be replaced or spliced into. They also show the part number for a chrome grille not the shadowline so we are trying to correct that as well. Soon as we hear back from them, I will shoot you an update! Thanks!”

Yes, they’re checking on the UI situation but nevertheless….. I’ll have the illuminated Grille installed.

I would like to know what part numbers are used for your retrofit. I don't believe there is an "OEM" retrofit but perhaps its just swapping the parts for an illuminated grille over to your vehicle and it just working normally. The option in the menu will be interesting to hear if it somehow just enables itself if it sees the front grille light connected. Thank you.

I can only assume it's what BMW called "Iconic Glow" in settings, but is anything else turned off?
