Is this only to improve mileage?I am getting ~ 18+mpg on my new 750lix.I am not driving it crazy though as its still in the initial 2500miles.If it prevents any carbon build up I would like to give it a try.

Both. It improves mileage and cleans the fuel system.

Service manager states its increasingly common to see stretched timing chains on the V8's, which leads to improper timing, which leads to poor fuel economy. Very disturbing to see my engine apart with only 30k miles.
Walked by four other cars (one 7, two X5's and one X6) that supposedly have the same problem and are in line ahead of my car waiting for repairs; there were another 2 'blown' engines on the ground in another area; so many engines out!? Didn't get a straight answer why my injectors and plugs were replaced two weeks ago if this is the true culprit... :| |

So the previous Saturday/10 days ago, I put in both the Archoil fuel and oil treatment. Even though I use Royal Purple every 4k miles. Keep in mind I drive VERY little! I'm still on the tank from when I filled up then. I will say there appears to be smoothing out taking place. Particularly on startup. Also, I didn't even think to monitor my own mpg that often until this thread. And I too am not happy at all with my mpg in the limited driving I do. I wonder how accurate our on board cluster reading is? Because if it's accurate, then I'm only averaging 10.5 which has increased to 11.
I plan on taking the car in soon just to see what the dealer says once they uhhm run their tests. I believe EVERYONE should be monitoring their own mpg immediately and report results here! I'm also using a 'scan tool' that sends all data to my Android. |

Several factors are at work here: There is the notorious 'carbon buildup' from direct injection design, weight, twin turbos, and who knows what else. It's a "love.hate" relationship I've developed for BMW. But at some point, enough will be enough.... Again... All of you "lurkers" who have a 7, go in and monitor your daily mpg's. Post up the results here. You may be SHOCKED... |

You're killing me TXSTYLE! Yes, it makes a difference. It wasn't reset so the car is calculating the average MPG before and after adding archoil 6200.
I know you're a busy guy, but can you please add 15mls and fill the tank + reset the trip computer? Then we should see how it truly performs. Thanks. |

Honestly... The fuel economy not so much as of yet.
But the car is idling much smoother! Particularly on cold starts! I am actively running a scan tool and have monitored a couple of misfires. That I'm sure had to do with all this carbon buildup we are hearing about or possibly clogged plugs? I will continue to update.... But thanks for the info. I will be using it for sure and already recommended it. |

I have a pre-LCI 2011 730d M Sport (UK model), currently on 33k miles.
MPG currently around 33.4, I've done 350 miles on just over half a tank (roughly 2/5 full now). I know it's not the 750 models you guys inthe states have, but it's interesting because it's about 8-9 MPG less than the manufacturer states for the type of driving I do. The LCI 730d (2012 onwards, I think) states over 50MPG combined with its new 8-speed auto gearbox, which I am very envious of. Luke |

I'd really like to hear from MANY more of you who are reading this thread,,,
THIS is a VERY troubling and serious issue guys!!! I believe we ALL can benefit from knowing just how "accurate" fellow owners MPG really are... I have gained a modest increase over the past month. But if you can call 11.8 averaging modest or good... I may as well be driving a LAMBORGHINI! |
