Look at the comparison of the cars.
The S looks like a detailed sculpture - the 7 looks like a kid drew it using straight lines. The difference in the level of detail is crazy. I am not in this market but the S class is the top of the line executive sedan. |

Still not a fan of those headlights at all, but the car definitely looks better in these shots than in previous ones.

The front of the car, IMO, Merc takes it. Just has more presence than the BMW. No side view of the car? Don't need one, the BMW easily takes that, I'm sure you purposely decided not to include it. The Merc is rather boring from the side. Rear of the car, IMO, BMW has to take it. The S and C class are both uninspiring, IMO. The S class coupe on the other hand knocks it out of the park!!! Interior I would say is a matter of preference. The MB here in your photo comparison wins out to the BMW, but the BMW in the post wins out to your photo comparison. I've not seen how personalized MB can get, but as you can see BMW can get very "Individual". Design choices on the MB are very strange to me and lead me to choose the BMW, such as: Column shifter, two Ipads on the dash, circular vents that don't flow with the rest of the the interior design. I'm also not a fan of wood trim, I'm more a brushed aluminum or carbon fiber fan myself, does MB offer that? Anyhow, the S class coupe is where it's at from MB, and I wish BMW would release a 7 series coupe that resembles their concept cars (what we were all hoping this 7 series would have looked like.)

Its better than expected but the items i think are wrong are :
Rear, just doesn't look right to me , the current 7 is miles better I drive screen, why does this have to jut out of the dashboard like the 3 and other makers cars these days? Looks cheap and jars. The curent 7 display in the dashboard looks better as its integrated in the dash. Use of chrome , even i metal again looks a bit cheap to me Hockey stick, again don't like My interest in this is because the g30 is bound to copy most of these changes in some way. Otherwise its not bad at all althought I'm not its target audience, the 5 series is my thing |

The attention to detail in the interior is really nice, by far one of the best BMW has done. Still a couple things bother me and I'm just nitpicking here. The aluminum center dash looks classy but could look a bit tacky with certain leather colors. It does go well with this interior color though. BMW could/should provide trim options for the center dash - wood, piano black, etc instead of just aluminum. Also, the two buttons in the center of the A/C vents could be moved elsewhere. They look out of place there. Still not getting used to the exterior, though. Maybe they'll fix some things in the LCI.
There are a few cheap looking plastic bits around the cabin that bug me a little. Example, the plastic vent in this pic. |

It's pretty ridiculous how I've warmed up to this car. I really thought there was no hope when I saw the leaked pics a few months ago.
And the good news is that I don't even necessarily think white will be the best color for this car, and it already looks good. Looking forward to seeing a gunmetal one. Spoken like someone who probably has never driven one. Congrats on going off topic.

Really nice exterior here , nice leather dash trim combo although the blue interior lights are totally off here...It's a big step forward! If I was to order this G11 it would most definitely be with the executive lounge in the back , it's the only must have option that makes sense for this class..It's a must have. It makes the car look so much better and more serious it's not even funny!
