Blame the NSA, they couldnt probably read no more your PC and the mails if they let the installation happen

I'm sticking with 7 until something absolutely forces me to upgrade. Just like I stuck with XP until I got a 64 bit system that XP wouldn't run on, that's why I went to 7.

For those who have not upgraded yet, Windows 10 best platform as of yet and transition safe and easy, been loving it for months now!

Upgrade it. Roll back is really simple if you dont like it. Your system will run better, and no point wasting free genuine software away; unless you've got software that werent legit to begin with.

So, since you are loving it, what do you see different from Win 7? I'm just looking for any real advantage other than having the "new" system. I'm just looking at it as Win 7 works great on my computer and what will I gain other than the chance for problems, no DVD player and rumored spyware?

Better resource utilization. Builtin AV. No Spyware- if you use Courtana (like Siri) it will collect data, but you can opt out/choose to disable it Everything works like it did on win 7, unless you have some really old software/drivers that required a hack to work with win 7 IF you really dont like it, you can roll back to windows 7 anytime. No point wasting free software Oh and yes if you had any non legit/licenses software it will be disabled.

If you dont have alot of older software that you absolutely need.. and have software that you need that claim to run against windows 10 .. and really want to then go ahead
For me my main laptop will all my critical software will stay windows 7 .. the other 2 development/gaming laptops with full ghost backups will transition to windows 10. |

If I can give some personal advice, it's that I completely DBAN the hard drive before installing a fresh copy of Windows 10 Pro. None of that "upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10". That's just asking for trouble.

Ok, now I'm leaning towards giving it a try...true flip-flopping at it's best. Just read this article:http://www.pcworld.com/article/30937...indows-10.html
The one thing I am wondering is if my older HP photosmart printer will work.

The only way I could consider to walk is, install a clean HDD with basic W7 into my system, disconnect all other drives and install W10 on it and let it configure. After that removal of the disk and reswap to W7. That'll saves me from buying W10 and have it as spare at any cases.
But if this is really worth it? Im not sure, even if W10 would be the last official released OS from MS. Another point is: If W10 is installed and your system crashed at any time...how to restore? Only online repair available or is it possible to burn a solid copy of W10 after downloading?

I just upgraded to Win 10. Got a little shock when all my files such as pics, docs, movies, etc were gone. Had to dig around and find them. Also, all my bookmarks from IE I guess are gone....wasn't able to import them.
I'm going to try it out and see if things work....I have no problem with change as long as things work.

As long as you're not a gamer and want to run older programs, W10 should not support various versions of copy- and DRM-programs, like SecureRom, if you insert a CD the system would not start and displays a message, thats unable to perform

I upgraded, but that's my line of work.. I usually get and test out the new stuff, like I'm testing rather evaluating Windows Server 2016. If you have a legit copy of Win7, by all means upgrade there's a lot more you can do with 10. As for playing your old games, ie you don't want to let go of CnC ZeroHour, then install virtual box, and run a VM of Win(?) whatever..that way you have your cake and eat it too

I restarted my computer yesterday and on restart the computer said it was upgraded. When it came on first thing I noticed was the desktop was black with no picture as the background as I had set. Next I noticed the desktop had reverted back to when I had windows 7. Then my Pic folder holding 46 gb in pictures was gone. And a game I downloaded for my son and had saved a week of progress in was gone. Searched everywhere but nothing.
Had a tech from micro-soft remote access my computer and search and inspect as well, but concluded the files were just erased. She said it happens. I do have my Pic file backed up, but it still is time I have to put in re-loading everything. So, be fore-warned it is a known issue that Windows 10 can at any moment erase your files and modify your settings.

At home I have windows 7 and love it
At work I have windows 10 and hate it for the followinh reason Getting to my computer is a three step process now Ad, so many freaking ads on every Microsoft program It loves logging off randomly Has a lower tolerance of how many accounts can be open at one time Tons of software randomly crash for no reason on 10 while work flawlessly on 7 I notice 10 is much more vulnerable to ransom ware attack then 7 Interface is crunchy Cortona is as useful as bing........ which is pretty worthless |

But thats only one example for W10, whats not running. The bother is, what I have additionally to to after upgrading to a new OS, that I have also to install kinda downgrades to simulate other conditions as the system supports stock delivered.
