You'll keep up the hating. Don't worry, when sales plummet, I'll take a fully loaded one (except for the rear screen) one on the chin for the team.

I pray this 'new' split headlight design is only for the X7, 7, i7, and XM. 🙏

Please, opine on your FWD 2.5L I4 crossover all you want. Once you're ready to drop $130K+ for a car, then we'll talk.

Oh what, are you going to go buy an A8 or LS500 now? Not a chance, this car was never for you.

It looks like a more modern baby Rolls-Royce, which is exactly what it should be. It's literally as long as the previous generation Ghost now.

Is it perfect? No. But as someone actually in the market for this car, I can tell you my impression is generally positive, and continually improving from this morning, when I admit I wasn't sure what to make of this.
This is not the point.
The point is if anyone wants to drop +$120k, he has lots of other options even through BMW line… for example 8 series.
On the other hand this car is really ugly regardless how much you want to pay for.
And cant understand the relation between FWD i4 cross over and this car in your comment!

I ordered an m3 so take this with a grain of salt but I think the new 7 series looks great. Maybe if you can go coupe the 8 series is the move but I prefer the new 7 to the 8 series gran coupe. I think bmw is targeting some new customers with a more aggressive look and it's upsetting some of the purists…the latter are much more likely to post in a bmw forum about disliking the car so there's a bit of a negative bias around here. I've had a few non bmw owners who see me as the bmw guy messaging me about how good the new 7 looks

I don't man but, it's *just* a car… no need to get depressed over it… plenty of fish in the sea…

When people said the grilles were because of China i disagreed, but now it's just obvious. My question, why can't they make separate cars for separate markets like toyota? Wonder how much they are getting paid to just copy another car.

Fantastic!

I get that some traditionalists think that the older models are wonderful, but to me they just look old. The new design is FANTASTIC, different and quite bold. Can’t wait to see it in person. Bravo, BMW!!

I actually am a person who can afford this, but to me, it only looks ok all blacked out with only the DRLs on. Once the headlights are also on it looks wrong, even in black. I wouldn't buy a Lexus instead of this though, would just make my move to Porsche permanent, a Panamera executive or get the Taycan 4S CT I am on the waiting list for. I have zero idea why people assume those who don't care for the new exterior cannot afford it.

That's just it. I'm saying the people who think it's ugly are probably not the ones in the market for this car.

The people who are in the market for it, probably like it. Not everyone, but I would bet most of them like this.

If you're not in the market for this car and you don't like it, that's probably not a coincidence. If the last car you bought or shopped was a FWD 4cyl crossover, then maybe that's the most relevant design for your to criticize, since you're the target market for it.

I'm not saying people can't have opinions, I'm just saying if you're going to spend this much money on a car, your opinion probably doesn't matter and is at odds with the people who would buy it anyway.

If you're spending this much on your next car and BMW has driven you away with this styling direction, that's unfortunate and their loss. But, I predict you are in the minority of the target demographic.

I am a woman in her early 40's, so I probably skew too young for the 7 Series demographic. Regardless, saying people who don't like it are just poor is extremely short sighted, it is a polarizing design, and I don't think this will increase 7 Series sales.
