The sad thing is, the iPhone 4 would be an incredible device had they just paid attention to this glaringly simple and important issue. There's no way they didn't know about this before release. They just didn't care, as evidenced by His reaction after the issue was reverberating through the public.... "Just don't hold it that way" or buy our $30 bumpers.... What a f'n asshole.
this is fucking hilarious and could not be more true.

Nothing is going to come from it. A) It came after 4 days after the phone was released. They are just searching for money. They are taking advantage of Apple's tendency to keep things close to their chest until they have a fix on hand. And now that they announced a proposed fix, their lawsuit is pretty much down the drain right there. It shows Apple is doing something to remedy the "issue". B) By any chance the case does not get dismissed when that point is brought up,Apple lawyers will show most cell phones with their antenna on the bottom will be affected if held in a certain way( assuming the court house is in an area where the signal isn't that great. If they are close to the tower then the db drop won't be enough where the phone will likely still report 5 bars).

This lawsuit is as frivolous as the family that sued Louisville Slugger for not warning them that balls coming off bats can be fatal.

Hey guys,

Since I frequent this forum more often than any other forum, I was wondering if you could help me out.

I created a website devoted to tracking various hardware and software bugs on the iPhone.

http://www.iphonebugtracker.com

Due to all the antenna problems people (including myself) have been facing with the new iPhone 4, I have made a simple form to collect data on iPhones that do and don't have that issue. Hopefully, with enough entries, this may elucidate whether certain regions, builds, or warehouse origination points have led to this widespread issue.

If you own any iPhone (original, 3G, 3GS, 4), please fill it out and tell me know what you think. Right now I'm testing the form to make sure it's ready for primetime, so if you notice any bugs, or can give me any comments or suggestions to improve the form/site, it would be appreciated. You can fill it out on your computer or on your iPhone.

Thanks in advance for your help!

On a related note, this article at ZDNet pretty much sums up the situation with the iPhone4. It's not an iPhone or Apple bashing article, but makes some great points.

Apple is pretty much its own biggest enemy right now. They have to watch out for themselves.

I like the article... the 'vista' of apple, is a little much.... personally I'd go back to one of the other failed OS's as a comparison... that is when microsoft started it's decline.

I do feel bad for the shareholders keeping it up... The current price of the stock assumes apple keeps it's lead...which I don't see happening in 3-4 years

have you heard the story behind it? suppposedly a best buy employee made it. Which makes even more sense if you think of the point of view. Anyways, BB was gonna fire the guy because of the video.

very good article. I myself have been using apple products for almost 5-6 years. Any true apple fan will tell you they have been on a slow decline for the past 2 years or so. MobileMe completely screwed up all the simple functions that .mac had, which until recently were not fixed.

BUT im not ready to say the iPhone4 is fail and not because I own one. Seems so many people are having the death grip issue but I've yet to get a dropped call. If I put my finger in the lower left portion, I so see the bars drop but I can still send text, make calls whatever. Maybe cause in SFL we have a decent signal, I dont know but I've yet to have that problem. So until apple releases their "fix" and it doesnt work, then I still believe is too early to call it fail.

Only problem Ive had, is w/ the proximity sensor. Happened twice, hope this is addressed by their next software upgrade

The purpose was probably to help make all the components a little smaller. It's tough to fit another camera, a gyroscope, etc and still manage to make it thinner.

You can buy your microsim adapter back to regular sim here.

It's where I got mine. You don't have to be stuck with a microsim if you are using an older phone which does not use microsim.

Has anyone tried the Fring app? You can FaceTime on the 3G network. It's free too.
