I'm seriously considering one used for a daily. I am tired of my old Subaru.

I don't see how reliability would be an issue with miles. Just have to worry about battery degradation.

I'd like to stay under $35k and don't need long range.

Did you look for anything specific when buying? PPI?
Thanks

I was mainly looking specifically for a long range awd and I really wanted the white interior. The white interior alone limited my choices vastly so I couldn't be too picky (although I basically got the exact config I wanted). Since it's still under the full Tesla warranty for another 2+ years and 50k miles I wasn't too concerned.

From what I have read battery degradation isn't that bad. Especially since the model 3 has only been out a few years. On a full charge mine shows 300 miles, however the mileage it shows can vary by a lot of stuff that has nothing to do with degradation like which wheels the car has. Might get 320 with the aero wheels, but change to the 19" sport wheels and it may drop to 310 or 300 etc. Also I believe the battery warranty is 8 years 100k miles with 70% battery retention. So I'm guessing Teslas worst case scenario is 70% in 8 years 100k miles. I highly doubt I will own it that long so not worried.

I did notice used Model 3 pricing is crazy! I would say MOST of the standard range, standard range plus and mid range were being sold for MORE than Tesla was selling them new for (although I think Tesla has some kind of discount going on right now). People must have been buying them because even at more than new prices they would disappear from my searches. Honestly I only ended up saving about $5k over buying new and that was mainly do to tax savings from my trade and getting way more for my trade from 3rd parties than I did from Tesla. Tesla really low balls on trades, especially none Tesla cars. They offered me like $6-7k less than every other places I got an offer from.

So anyways I would just recommend you check pricing closely. I believe Tesla actually sells a $35k Model 3 but they do not show it on their site. You have to contact them to order it. I think it's basically a standard range plus just software limited to like 200 or 220 miles. So if range is not that important to you that might be a consideration and probably cheaper than the used ones I saw.

Thumbs up

I decided to step up my go-bag game, so I ordered a Eberlestock "F5 Switchblade" pack in black. I half-expect this might become my EDC bag, but I'll have to see if it works better than my current EDC bag (Ogio Alpha Convoy 525).

I didn't buy them....but wife bought me some Duluth Carpenter pants for work. Initially.... impressions are actually more comfortable than I thought they would be by looking at them. They should last awhile too.

I like the Firehose a lot as well, my new pairs of pants were 5.11 Stryke pants, which I absolutely love.

Will have to post a pic of those and all the other new shit I recently got, mostly camping and rock climbing related...

In pic new stuff is the 5.11 pants, Osprey Raptor hydration pack to replace my old one, Resistol hat, and Vasque St Elias GTX boots to replace the pair I just blew out before my trip.

Nothing really ground breaking, but just little things knick knacks/toys for the wife and son. Also plan on doing some small car parts/accessories, and really just any other misc items that I could see being beneficial around the house.

Theres definitely some potential to get some ROI but need a good idea first.

A few years ago on my old car, I would print plastic clips that would break on me. Even printed some AN Wrenches so that I didnt mark up the surface. Worked pretty well!

Sounds awesome. My buddy used his to make trim removal tools and those little clips. Also made an insert for his cup holder to make it smaller so it would hold his canned coffee better.

Well nothing that exciting but this arrived today. Echo smart speaker with Alexa. Kind of cool gadget lets me play anything from the Amazon library for $4 a month.

I was going to use it to listen to my Sirius subscription but the more I think about it since I have CarPlay in the new car and a smart phone with lots of storage for music and now this at home I think Sirius days are numbered.

Red face Those killer prices.

It was about 1600€ initially and then like 1150€ through the last couple of years. So when I saw it for 349€ (which is only cheap by comparison: I could choose a useful jacket for less but no huge discount) I just could not let them escape with that offer. A couple of months waiting, received. A very nice thing but I don't know what to do with it: I am not a leather garments fan and I want my clothes washable while this one isn't "officially". "Mothers, tell your children not to do what I have done."

When hanging/lying flat it looks differently: narrow shoulders, wide bottom opening. Designed for the rich, I suppose.

I haven't tried it on yet, but I have two other clothing items from the brand (a down jacket and a vest): they are indeed designed narrow in the middle and short (for my liking). So I have them a size up from what they picture to allow a slim waist bag underneath. The fit isn't perfect but it's acceptable (I hate it tight, I like some freedom).

Fellow yard freaks may enjoy the excess of this but I ended up buying 400lbs of lawn fert. It's a custom blend (XRT/Mesa/Milo) from a local-ish company as far as I can tell. For the $/bag and nutrient profile, it's the best bang for the buck I've found to date. I'm all set for the rest of the year and probably early spring, too. lol

Ah, man....I'm always a sucker for a good pack. Why'd you have to post this. lol

I have the Stryke pant in my rotation as well and they've held up very well in all sorts of conditions. When I feel the need to retire them, they become household chore/mechanic/yardwork pants. Kuhl also makes some good stuff (but w/ fewer pockets).

Yeah - tried telling me I was doing triple digits...just to see my reaction. I was probably doing 60+ in a 45. Expected a ticket of some sort...got told to 'slow it down'.

I don't like it. If you have a lawful detention, great! Otherwise, I'm not the type of law enforcer that plays those kinds of games. Fortunately ShopVac left that encounter without a citation.
