The rear is really awful and strange, especially the rear lights. If someone would show me the rear end (without the logo) and ask me which manufacturer this car is from, BMW would probably be my last guess.

Front and side look mostly good aside from tacky M-Performance accessories and overly large triangle vents. The rear end is way too tall and chubby though, and what's with BMW adding all of these small lips on top of built in ducktails, just looks weird.

It doesn't stray too much from the F87 platform. I like the evolutionary design language. Can't wait to see what the G87 looks like. I know it's a year out but that really gives me hope.

Oh man, this is looking pretty over styled to me. I love the kidney grills but everything else is going to result in a pass for me.
Even if a car performs well, I won’t buy it if I don’t like the looks. It is a hell of a bummer as I’ve been such a big fan of the 1-series and 2-series coupes. |

For some reason the taillights look very childish to me and I did notice the higher rear. Glad they didn't do that weird lower bumper thing on the new 4GC & X3/X4 LCI

Rear taillights should've been wider by extending towards the center similar to the 4 and 8 series. These proportions just don't look right...

I think it looks great! That front is super aggressive with a minimal look. Rear lights giving me E90 and 2002 vibes.
Can't wait for the official release!!

Of course it's dependent upon the eye of the beholder, the tale of the tape will be in sales figures! And only if a dent appears there, will you possibly see a change! But we all know the upper management has dug in and entrenched themselves with the design changes, believing their own ego that it's a necessary and good change. Problem being reinforced by those who support the program because they buy it just because it's BMW and are enamored with the "Brand"...
Soooo, ehhh! Back to sales... It's the only thing that will effectuate change. Edit to add: Those tail lights are hideous as well... What's the hook for? Simply ridiculous, like an engineer used a smidge tool on front and back and said whoola! There ya go! How do you like it, and all the suits in the room went wow (not in a good way) but clapped together once the head honcho smiled! Bet my 20' M240 just retained its value even more! And the M2's. As well! Good going! Last edited by cooolone2; 07-05-2021 at 11:21 AM.. |

Overall the rear styling looks pretty good to me. Like anything I could nitpick it to death, but this looks like a good effort. just want to see how it looks in different colors.

The new color though sure is interesting. But the taillights and those triangle intakes are misses IMO. Whatever…

This looks super generic. I was excited about the possibly upgrading to the LCI M2 in a few years but with a generic looking car like that I'll keep my f87c for now

Horrible they keep sealing up the front with plastic closed vents terrible. And probably a electronic button for a E-Brake on the new M2 coming and a tiny manual gearbox.. smh terrible what the future holds that old school analog feel is diminishing
