Locked up in a Riyadh jail for getting caught with a Saudi Princess in the car unescorted. I wasn't dating her, I was dating the friend. We both went to jail after Muttawa chased use around for 35 minutes and I high sided the Jeep Cherokee on the transfer case on those dreaded high curbs trying to reverse direction. The USTMSA commander got us out. Got a suspended bust but by the time I got home I had my stripe back and I was leaving Special Duty after 3 years. That was tour 2 in SA the 11 months at Al's Garage

Was on Baghdad Brake fire, not fun for our few other Heavy guys here. Dirt Bike/Hot Tube on the forward ramp airshow.
We have a few things in common. What year were you at the Garage? I was there in 2000. My last assignment, after leaving USMTM, was Travis AFB...where I retired!

Did the Muttawa have their sticks while chasing you?

I have uttered the words, “Rounds on target, fire for effect” into a

Yeah in 1991 they were still hitting folks in public. I was doing the AOR tour of reconstitution aka bringing everything of value to Al Kharj then we ship it back to the unit that owned it or we could not determine who owned it it would be preserved on site and stored there. We were staying at what was called Oscar site bunch of tents, then after a 2 months we moved to Eskan Village. CLSS was fun but for 3 years TDY for 80% of the time but that was the job.

That's pretty impressive.

I know it's not the same but managed/coached my son's little league baseball team for 4 years. Was many years ago, he's 38 now.

Didn't make it to the World Series but man, was it a lot of fun!

Yeah, it was a cool experience. I had 2 daughters playing at the time, both won awards from the tournament. Pretty proud dad/coach. Sucks when they get old and can't play anymore

Yes, you should be proud. My son made allstars every year and I was super proud of him as well.

There was one scary experience: he got hit in the head with a bat from some kid practicing his swing without looking. My son got a skull fracture and some bleeding in the brain. Was terrifying at the time but he made a full recovery, thank God.

Yep, that is always scary when your kid gets hit. I'm glad to hear he was/is ok!

My oldest was a pitcher. She got dropped numerous times, twice in the same game at the WS! I played baseball growing up and it is crazy how much closer and faster softball is in comparison.

You just reminded me that I walked across the River Thames both over and *under* on the same day when I was in London back in 2001.....

Yes, very scary. I could hear him crying from behind the dugout. I ran to him and he was laying on his back, arms and legs were kicking and shaking uncontrollably. I picked him up and started running to my car to drive him to the hospital.

Someone stopped me and had a cell phone (they weren't common back then) and called 911 and an ambulance came within a few minutes and they rushed him to the hospital. As mentioned above, he made a complete recovery.

Thanks to everyone sharing some pretty amazing and special experiences.

I was about 12 yrs old and I will never forget the day I shook the hand of John Wayne and had a 5 min conversation with him in the parking lot of a sporting goods/gun shop in Newport Beach, CA. He was gracious and seemed genuine in dealing with a young fan. Cool man!

Sometime in the early 80's I was attending a corporate dinner event in Chicago with my father. He worked for the company and had me come with him. After dinner the Smothers Brothers, the event entertainment, came out and sat at our table for about 30 min before going on stage. They were really fun and hilarious.

She was crabbing back and forth with the flight attendant, the sort of crabbing that might get you kicked off a flight today. Something about letting the dog out of its carrier until take off, or not. Very agitated.

After we took off, I asked her what was up, why so tense. She explained that she was going to Detroit to make sure everything was ready for the Super Bowl (XL), and was part of the advance team for the Rolling Stones (half time), specifically Mick. We talked about that and I asked how she got that job, and she said she was following the band in the late 60s and got hired to do some roadie stuff, then to be a band assistant, then personal assistant for several of the band members culminating in her working for Mick. She commented that there was no expectation when she met the band and was first hired that any rock band would last so long or that she would have a 30+ year career with them.

Lots of cool stories from her, really nice once she calmed down.

My company was active in the XL committee, took down a couple of derelict buildings in the Super Bowl village (no permit, did it at night), and I hosted a group with seats at the 50 yard line. The only time I’ve been to a Super Bowl. Steelers beat the Seahawks that day.
I've been backstage at 2 Stones concerts, was hanging out with Bonnie Rait and Whoopee Goldberg at one of them.

Years ago somebody gave Joe Klecko my name because he needed support in my area of expertise. I didnt know what to expect but he turned out to be an incredibly smart and humble guy. I truly enjoyed helping him and he did leave me with a signed framed picture that’s still in my office. I’ve met a few famous people and he is one of my favorites.

Had a cat video go viral with one video over 65 million views. Ed Sheeran even tweeted about her quite a number of years ago, earlier on in his career, I didn’t even know who he was back then, but one night I got near 100k views with comments like Ed Sheeran brought me here. I was like who? Lol.

While delivering a new TV to a customer, I noticed that her carpet
squished. In fact, it smelled. Really bad. It was cat piss. She had
at least 12 cats and apparently no sense of smell.

Shot on a potato cam 17ish years ago. We just brought her home a couple days earlier, but she took to us right away. My Mother in Law wanted to see her new grandcat(lol) so I filmed this. I left it public. After a few years it got popular and passed around. Totally crazy imo.

Edit: This is what my 17 year old baby looks like now.
