I really don't understand the value of the question anyway. This forum is for BMW owners. It is a known fact that BMW owners are high net worth people. Why else would they go out and buy an expensive car.
Not exactly. Statistically speaking, more millionaires drive Hondas and Toyotas than BMWs and Audis. From this poll it appears ya'll are a bunch of poor mofos who either lease or need to finance their bimmer anyways. (I'm assuming everyone who chose "I'm in Debt" or "$50+ Million" are lying)

The middle class shouldn't be driving BMWs either, so hopefully no one on here is middle class. As a finance professional it pains me to read about people's personal lives on here. All I can think is, this dumb fool can barely afford his car note, yet he's spending his life savings on new wheels and suspension parts. I actually feel sorry for a lot of people on here. I love them to death, but most car enthusiasts are just plain stupid when it comes to managing their money. If you aren't earning at least $200k/year then you have no business driving a $50k car. You'll need at least $2 million in net worth at retirement before you can even think about driving a pre-owned BMW. Make that $4 million if you want to drive a new BMW in retirement (an easy back-of-the-envelope calc is to multiply your savings by 4% to find your annual retirement income and don't forget to factor in inflation).

I always find those statistics a bit skewed...

One who inherits land that has been in the family valued at $1,000,000 does not seem to mean the same as people who have the gross income to establish them as higher net worth individuals.

Go to Hawaii... You will see people worth over a million who have very little cash income because it's all tied up in their house that has been handed down from their parents/grandparents.

Person A starts with $1,000,000 cash with $30k year job.
Person B starts with $0 cash with $200k year job.

Who would you rather be?

I'm worth whatever the next person is willing to pay me for sex.

Then I'll just spend it on drugs and according to a recent bank note, be negative $32.58 in debt.

Moderators apparently did not approve and would rather have an avatar with a huge penis rather than a nice set of glutes on the beach.

Owning/leasing a BMW is not an indicator of net worth. There are a lot of people with fancy cars that don't have squat. Conversely, there are people who could buy out the dealership and are just fine driving a non top-of-the-line car. You can't tell by looking. It could be true, but I don't know for sure, that people who talk about how much money they have are less well off than people that don't talk about it.

Don't get me wrong, if people want to drive a car that's beyond their means by conventional measures, that great. I get the live for today mindset.

BTW, thanks for the clip of Heath Ledger in his final performance. He was an incredible actor. RIP

This is funny. I don't know what we'd do without a "finance professional" telling us we're all stupid on this board!

Especially considering 90% of this forum seems to be in some sort of finance or accounting.
