I asked Google what I should type to represent the sound of a fox. It said:

Yaaggaghhh!!!

I need to get a good game camera. Today I was outside and noticed a pair of Bald Eagles adding sticks to what was formerly a Red Tail Hawks nest in a large white pine on the edge of my property.

Very cool I will try and snap some photos using my camera.

Found one of these just this week. I think it went head on into our mirrored windows at work and did not survive the impact. We get a lot of birds that attack the windows in the spring, but not many fatal hits. I was sorry to see this one as I like watching woodpeckers.

I had a Pileated woodpecker staying in the woods by my house for a few years. I would see it occasionally, but heard it's call often. I have not seen it in 2025 so assume it moved on or expired. It's the little things..........

This was from spring before we got to NC. Hummingbirds ringing the doorbell demanding their juice be put out immediately.

Found this:

“Chirping (also called chattering or chittering) is a short, high-pitched combination of chirps, trills or rapid teeth-clicks sometimes mixed with a meow-like sound. It’s distinct from typical meowing, purring, or yowling."

"When watching birds, squirrels or other prey through a window, cats often chirp as part of a predatory sequence: intense focus + suppressed stalking. The sound accompanies excitement and frustration when they can’t reach the target.”

Our cat does it to birds in the trees or in the yard and to a family of squirrels that hang out in the back yard. Of course when she sees another cat outside it’s a completely different sound, with lots of hissing and growling.

This was a few years ago, in our backyard in Northern MD. The barking drew our attention, as the male was having his way with the female... the barking turned into more of a terrifying screeching by the time I was able to grab my phone, then a minute later he was done and she was basking in the sun.

In the second pic, he was buried deep (see the tail up) and he was dragging her, essentially by his appendage... yowch.
