On mine it seems to stay active. Although the display on the AC shows three bars (as that's what I have it set at)

It does seem to allow itself to cool and then heat up again.

Steering wheel is the same.

I think you would need to check in the coding what the threshold is for the seat to switch off at. I think it's circa 34oC as standard. But could be wrong.

Nope...it stays on until you turn it off manually...or shut the car down. It keeps the steering wheel at approx 36° C (96.8° F):

good info, so I infer that the seat/steering temp is maintained while the heating element is modulated (on/off until deactivated).

I'm still wondering if this is possible.

I like the standard dash layout of Comfort/Adaptive on the digital cockpit.

I also like the way sport mode is on the Alpina display.

I've coded my car to have the Alpina dash layout. But went back to normal as wasn't overly enamoured about the standard dash layout.

Is there a way to keep the normal dash layout and code just Sport/Sport individual to have the Alpina style layout?

Or is only a case of either all standard or all Alpina.

Thanks.

To answer your question "broadly"...the answer is yes. Just a simple google/internet search using "BMW coding cheat sheet" will give you lots of results.

But is you want more specificity...if you give more as to what you're looking for and what method you plan to use (ie software/hardware...or an app, etc)...you may get better recommendations and suggestions from the forum.

Is it possible to increase the brightness of the angel lights and ambient light inside the car? Can't seem to find anything in bimmercode might be in expert mode?

My '18 X3 has a compass in the instrument cluster (where one sees the odometer/mpg/mph) which my '16 750. After examining the coding in the X3, I tried to enable the compass display using Bimmercode. In KOMBI2, change the following parameters from Inactive to Active to match the X3:
3000 Anzeige Konfiguration/CB KOMPASS
3000 Anzeige Konfiguration/CB KOMPASS ENABLE
3007 Pia Einheiten/PIA KOMPASS
3007 Pia Einheiten/PIA KOMPASS PORTIERUNG
Immediately upon successful coding, the compass did appear in the on-board computer; but after exiting diagnostic mode and restarting the car, the compass disappeared. Any thoughts?

ambient lighting intensity adjustment is in I-Drive setting under LIGHTING/INTERIOR (where one selects the color).

In the HU head unit there is a setting as well for Kompass. Also, try to look for Compass

Apple carplay can only be activated by FSC code. Have a look at this, go to ebay.com then look for item number 254126008338

They got mine to full screen

Depending on your nav version. So check your Nav Version in your iDrive

This item is only for 3 different map version using a USB

But some iDrive Map version will require you to have OBD cable and a laptop to do update it.

We all have it in the iDrive
