IX to i7
I currently have a fully loaded i7 in my driveway for a test drive. We need to replace one of our cars and I’m thinking of passing my 2023 iX down and getting the i7 for myself but I’m having my doubts.
The car drives great and the level of luxury is unlike anything I’ve driven, but I am having reservations and I can’t figure out why. Any other members a 2 EV household? Downside to going to a sedan from the is Help! |

Love the i7! I went from i4 M50 to iX 50 to iX 60 to i5 M60 to i7. The i7 seats are zero gravity and the car is at Rolls-Royce level of luxury and the materials and build quality in the i7 is on another level of perfection!

I am leasing an i7 after having an iX M60. Have loved the iX but resentful with the headunit change 6 months after I purchased. My bro has an i7 and every time I had to drive myself on the highway I felt like a loser. BMW will no doubt do it to me again as I just signed the lease for a 2024 i7 right before they switch to 2025 model year. Got the Autobahn option so hopefully never having to perceive movement will soften whatever blow is to come.

Thanks for all the feedback! I have to make my decision tomorrow morning. I’m looking at 12k off plus 12,900 in rebates. Seems like a no brainer. Are you expecting changes for the 2025 model year?

To me, it is a simple practicality decision. Do you need (or prefer) the form factor of an SUV? If not, get the i7 - BMW's 7 Series is the best all around driver's luxury car on the planet. If you want to sit high or need the rear storage, get the iX. The 7 Series kinda sucks in those categories.

2 EV household for almost a year now. I do have an 6.2L gas pickup truck that I sparingly drive (mostly towing and Home Depot duty), and I have my gas BMW R18B for those sunny days when I'm not on kid duty. |
