G12 Anemic A/C...My fix.
My A/C hasn't been working awesome over the last several years and it would take over 10 miles or so before the air would start getting cold, maybe even 30 miles on a hot day...symptoms of low R1234yf freon.
I checked the A/C pressure and it was a bit low, so added a little bit of freon, but within 30 to 60 days, I'd be back to the same issue...so got a freon sniffer and found out that both A/C (high and low pressure) schrader valves were leaking. Bought a schrader valve replacement tool ($40), and two new schrader valves from the dealership, and another can of R1234yf freon....took about 20 minutes to R&R both. It's been 8 months now, and the A/C is cold within 1 mile of driving. So cold, we now keep the cabin at 74 F instead of 70 F. |
