I think it’s pretty cool and $70k for full-size truck that can go 0-60 in 4sec is great value. I expect to see these things everywhere next year.

Pretty cool info from Jason about gorilla glass at 57.09 (he also brings up a few issues), he seems to be very impressed overall:

They're called lemmings.

Oh, and the cybertruck is one hideous piece of shit. I've seen better car designs from a three-year old with finger paints.

I have no desire to get one…but imagine being the type of person who looks at a Cybertruck and doesn’t think it’s just downright cool.

It must suck being that miserable.

After seeing Cammisa's videos on the CT, I have to say I'm starting to like this thing. LOL.

Not big on the idea of steer-by-wire though...

I think the benefit of reducing the steering effort to turn makes it interesting.

$70K is the real price less a possible $7,500 tax credit + 3-years of fuel savings, which is $3,600 based on Tesla's savings math using 12,000 miles/year at $3.30/gal and 20 MPG (reasonable estimates). The real price is $79,990.

Sure if you're into the design aesthetics of a 5 year old.

Give me close up inspection of the quality of the build. This website is for people buying Teslas of every known issue you should check before taking delivery of the car...https://blog.tesbros.com/tesla-delivery-checklist/

Most suburban moms that drive Gwagons and GMC Yukons will be scooping these things up. Some fellas that have Wranglers for show will also buy these.

I really think its amazing design and ppl are not giving Tesla team enough credit for pushing whats possible. They could have easily done a dumb pickup design like a stretched out Model X instead they did something revolutionary - this is what separates Tesla from rest of carmakers.

I wish BMW can go back to their design roots and make something special / futuristic instead putting some pig nose grill on their cars.

Whether you like Musk or not - the dude is a visionary that is not controlled by bean counters like most auto CEOs. He is not afraid to fail and takes huge chances which is the only way to make something different.

I originally thought the exterior design was goofy but seeing it in motion gives it a different appeal (to me at least). I do like the intensive cab forward design of it. Thank God Tesla didn't make it look like a Model 3 or Model Y. The interior leaves a lot more to desire, it is just too sparse for my taste. If Tesla is making gobs of profit now, it now should design more conventional switchgear for tactic control of the HVAC, radio, wipers, and cruise control. And for God's sake just put a screen in front of the driver. The Mach E has a nice setup IMO.

Most of the automotive technology is great, though I'd need a full understanding of the fail safe for the column-less steering system. And what are the design elements to keep the tonneau cover from jamming in real world use? The Cyber Truck site shows a track hoe loading the bed with dirt, I can see that easily jamming the cover. Worse is gravel. The mega mono-wiper might be prone to failure. I jokingly have asked what the HP of the wiper motor is, but it's a serious question. Is it a lever system, or direct-drive.

I have no issue with Musk's politics, just like I have no issue with Mary Barra or Jim Farley politics either. Everyone on the left side of isle liked him for pushing planet-saving EV until the government of California ass-kicked him at COVID time. He got a real taste of how Government thinks it has control over the populace and it didn't sit well with him. He's an immigrant who actually believes in free speech and personal rights. Shame on him. LOL. Why that is offensive to Americans is perplexing to me.

Creating a steel cockroach with 200kwh battery for epa 360 miles for the quicker variants is just an insult. So is the 28 hours to charge it for 360 miles from a 7kwh home charger. It doesn't strike me as revolutionary.

Nobody is saying this is work truck but most pickups are hardly used for that purpose. This is a truck that is big, fast and can tow. I thinks it’s perfect how 99% of ppl use their non work trucks.
I have no interest in EVs but something about this thing really appeals to me.

Btw nobody can match Tesla battery tech and now most of the development/production is in-house which is important to control costs.

I wanted to stay away from any Ctruck discussions to be frank, there is an ungodly amount I can go in on, but why bother... EV thread is enough to turn me off that thought.

Serious neutral question though, who here is actually going to/already has plop their own hard earned cash for one?
