Aftermarket Tuner

Can someone recommend a good aftermarket tuner for the B58 engine? I have a 2016 740 and will be replacing the Turbo and possibly the downpipe and will need to reset the codes and account for the new Turbo.

My advice is to go with Bootmod3. Hands down the best BMW tuning solution on the market.

I use MHD. BM3 is also good. You should join b58 enthusiast on facebook, a lot of good info there. Upgraded turbo these engines can make 6-700whp stock internals.

Just out of sheer curiosity, if you get these up to the 750i level ~520hp , what is the reliability like?

Really good. Mine is probably about at that level. I run a 11.9@116 according to dragy. I have had no problems. The 740 brakes tend to show that they don't like that hp though. You can break a drive shaft. The mod path is pretty cheap too. My main reason for choosing the 740 over the 750 was I knew that people were pushing some pretty serious numbers on the 340's reliably. The other thing I saw was lets say worst case scenario happens and you blow your engine. I saw a guy pick up a slightly used b58 for 4k. 600-650whp seems to be a pretty reliable area for these cars.
