Roof rack?

Anyone put a roof rack on their G12 to accommodate a cargo carrier? Just had our second kid. Can fit a couple bags plus stroller or Veer wagon but will need more storage. I can't seem to find a reference to compatible racks so thinking it's probably not recommended but looking for confirmation.

Check with your BMW dealer. They have them for G11/G12.

Not bought them yet but it was possible on some G11/12’s, check the VIN specific manual for your G11/12 car to see if you can get them or not. (Or check your roof for the mentioned slots)

My car does not have these slots. I was thinking maybe having the panoramic roof would prevent me from using a roof rack. I'm not sure. Will have to ask the dealer when I go in for my next service.

No, panoramic roof isn’t an issue as I’ve got a sunroof and have the roof rack slots (G11) and pano rood isn’t any wider...I think they only offered the roof rack for a year or two then stopped for some reason IIRC, think 2015/16/17 models can, 18 onwards can’t (happy to be proved wrong though)? Sorry to hear you don’t have the slots, without them you’ll not be able to use a roof rack.

I have the slots on my late 2018 car, which is a G11 too. Wonder if it’s is not available on G12 due to extended roofline or something like that?

Thanks for the correction Markr, maybe it is the extra rear sunroof that means no G12 can have roof racks. Good to know the 18 G11 can also have it.
