Trunk / Boot Motor Failure?
Anyone else ever have their trunk / boot motor stop working to automatically open / close?
All my truck does now is unlatch, and I have to push it up or down to open or close. Thought I've seen it all, but this is a new one. No indication of there being a problem previously. Any way I can 'reset' the system? Anyone have the dealer fix this? If so, how much am I looking at? Thank you. |

So the light in the trunk is lighting.
I also checked the three fuses with the symbol of the trunk (actually a symbol of a liftgate), but they're all good. |

*UPDATE*
After weeks of the problem, the trunk lid randomly started working again today (power open and close). I didn’t do much to diagnose and didn’t disconnect the battery. That said, unfortunately, I have a coolant leak (refill coolant message has appeared three times thus far) and when I went to the trunk to get the coolant, I noticed the trunk was now working. Not sure if the car’s computer calling for coolant helped reset the trunk. Is that possible? And not sure what caused this in the first place. :/ Thanks. |
