Cool [Updated w/ Pics on Page 2] Picking up a '13 C63 sedan this week.

I absolutely love my current F30 M Sport 335i. I have spent a lot of time and money modifying it to my satisfaction. It has performed admirably at the track. All that said, I need a little break from the 3 Series.

In a couple of days I'll be taking delivery of a 2013 Iridium Silver C63 AMG w/ Black MB Tex/DINAMICA (i.e., alcantara) interior. It has the Lighting Package (Bi-Xenon headlights), Multimedia Package, Premium 1 Package, Lane Tracking Package, and Keyless-Go. Should look something like this:

I'll still be hanging around this forum just as much as usual as I still have a BMW in the garage. After a few years of lighting up the tires on the C63 I will likely return to the 3 Series in the form of the new F80 M3.

Are there any other fellow C63 owners here (including current, former, or future owners)? Anyone here go from a tuned 335i to a C63? Just interested in hearing thoughts and impressions regarding the C63.

I'll come back and post some actual photos in this thread after I have taken delivery.

My father's got a 08 C63 with Sport Package. Back then it's still the 7Spd Speedshift and not the MCT.

We tuned it in 2010 and it went on the dyno before and after.
Stock C63 AMG
449.9 HP @ 6518 RPM / 63.2 Kg/m @ 4826 RPM
MHP Tuned ECU/TCU
527.9 HP @ 6808 RPM / 66.3 Kg/m @ 4405 RPM

Afterwards we put a Vath Exhaust on it (Headers, Custom Piping, Mufflers)
It should be making over 550HP now.

Back in 08 there wasn't that many options to be ticked. Now if I were to get one today I'd pick the P31 Development Package for sure.

There's more creature comforts in my 2011 M3 than the 2008 C63, and the ride is much more compliant in the M3. The engine and exhaust note is much more exciting in the C63, and the M3 wins in the handling. It really depends what you're looking for.

Nice, I really liked the c63 when I cross shopped with the m3. Any plans for mods, you have to at least upgrade the brakes, wheels, and tires to handle that great 6.2 liters of power.

Nice choice! Great car... a friend of mine actually went from 335i -> C63 sedan and recently got rid of the AMG and jumped in a brand new M3! He loved the benz, but said the car was honestly just too ridiculous. He missed the refinement of the BMW and wanted to test out the M car!

Yeah I drive a C63 lol but I made the switch from a 320i so the power difference was slightly more exaggerated. Funny thing is, sometimes I like to swap cars with my N54 friends as I simply love the feeling that driving a 135/335i gives. But at the end of the day when I get back into the C63 you can tell the engine is just a step above. The power/torque/sound are all fantastic and now with the new MCT gearbox which you will have, it will bang on the upshift gearchanges and have epic throttle blipped down-shifts. Just a shame you didn't go for the Performance Pack

I had a C63 for 2 years and just sold it 3 weeks ago. It was 2011 sedan with premium 2, multimedia. What a car!! Great for DD & track use BUT:
1. Difficult to drive in the rain
2. Must upgrade tires (especially rear)
3. Only managed 8000 miles/rear tire set
4. Need to "practice" a lot at the track to avoid embarrassment! (massive over steer)

Still, I intend to get another one when the new model comes out in 2015, now that I can afford to keep a 335i for work and errands.

ive only driven the pre LCI version with the old autobox and loved it. I seriously felt like a mob boss in that thing, it is just a bad ass machine. I just wanted to drive like a jack@ss all around town listening to the monster engine.

overall, I preferred the m3 slightly, but the merc is crazy fun. the new model with MCT may tip the scales the merc's way...

either way, congrats and you will love it!

6.2L V-8 is a beast of an engine and produces an awesome sound. Do they still offer the performance package? If so, you should go with that as well.

Wait, 450WHP or 450 HP to the crank, stock?

That's quite an impressive build! Thanks for sharing.

I like the Development Package as well but wow is it expensive.

I think the brakes should be okay. The C63 has 6-piston calipers in the front with 4-piston calipers in the rear.

Now with respect to the rear tires, those most definitely need to be upgraded.

Point #3 has me a little concerned haha. Otherwise, sounds like you really enjoyed it. Thanks for the info. my friend.

They do. I am thinking of going with the Kleemann K1 tune in lieu of the Development Package.

A great car almost pulled the trigger on it before my F30 purchase. You will love it as it is a beast of a car. Completely different then a F30 or M3 but you will love it. The only thing I can say that sucks is the fuel consumption. Other than that it is an awesome car.

Congrats man, enjoy the beast. I had a CLS 63 (W219 - 6.2L), and they are just extremely fun to drive. It put a stupid grin on my face when I did an engine start or just driving the car. I am definitely thinking about another AMG purchase - probably a C63. One day I want to own the C63 Black - I can dream! The AMG boys sure do know how to make the engine/exhaust sound good, and the power is just bonkers.

I think you will love the car if you know what you are getting in to!

One thing I forgot to mention... my friend did quite a few track days, and drove competitively. He was changing all four tires about every 2-3 months (car LOVES to shoot out that back-end and make smoke!)
