Work not stated on Repair Orders
w does everyone handle situations when you know the dealer has performed work, but they do not state same on your repair order (i.e.: software updates or setting changes)?
On my visit to replace my driver's side sun visor this past Friday, I told my service advisor I did not want any other work performed, but earlier tonight I realized something WAS changed - my phonebook list now lists contacts followed by contact descriptions in parenthesis (i.e.: (home), (work), (mobile)); previously it listed contact names only, where I would have to drill down into the contact and then select from home, work, mobile, etc. – the original setup being more efficient and less cluttered; though my concerns are less about this specific change and more about my pulling to the right problem and whether or not "Straight Ahead Driving" has been installed through iRAP. If anyone has the time, I'd appreciate it if you would please post the software version you're running and what year your car is. Also, please post which of the phonebook list configurations that I have described you are experiencing.

What I described I experienced both on the way in AND on the way out of the city last night (after I shut off, parked and restarted the car for my drive back home). Yet tonight, everything is back to normal!?
As you may know, the paper shaped icon to the right of BMWNA in the first screen shot means I have multiple numbers for BMWNA. Last night there were multiple lines for BMWNA - and other contacts with multiple numbers - on this very screen, where it would say BMWNA (work), BMWNA (fax), and so on - without the paper shaped icon to the right and without a submenu for the multiple contacts. So, I don't know what's going on and why it's back to normal. Otherwise, the other screen shots show how to retrieve the software version. Last edited by dbs600; 10-12-2011 at 10:35 PM.. |

Did you by any chance do any setting changes in your phone?
The phone-book is transferred every time you start the car from your phone via the Bluetooth interface. Also, if you paired multiple phones with the system and have them in proximity of the car when you start it up, the system my get confused as to what to show on the screen!

No, no changes or updates to my telephone; and I don't connect my iPhone to my computer, as I'm always concerned that the sync will change my icon set up or my contact list, and I don't use my phone for music (as an iPod) either.

Earlier tonight I picked up a 2012 7 Series overnight demo and guess what the phonebook list shows(!?) - exactly what I was describing:
