Hi,

When I purchased my 2016 CPO I couldn't find a manual for the audio system. Does anyone know where to download? I searched the web but couldn't find anything. Thanks

What are you hoping to learn? Maybe we can be of some assistance. The operation and settings are fairly straightforward.

I have a couple of questions:

1. How do I delete the songs that got downloaded to the system's hard drive?

2. Last week I added few more songs to the USB stick. When I plugged it back in the car I noticed as I scroll down the list of songs the album picture on the right side does not change unless I select the song. Before that as I scroll up/down the album picture would change based on the song. I have no idea what happen...

Question #1...that should be in your regular owners manual...and is done in iDrive (at least it is on the prior versions of iDrive).

Have you tried pressing the iDrive controller's OPTION button or moving the controller to the right when you are in the area that you want to do some changes? This usually gives selections to make changes or delete etc.

Okay, so to delete songs from the internal drive,

1) Media button
2) Music Collection
3) Option button
4) Manage Music Collection
5) Delete Selected Files
So on and so forth.

The other issue seems like a formatting problem with whatever music program you use to index your collection.

Regarding the formatting, all songs are mp3 based files copied into a single folder on the USB drive. Nothing special! Please let me know if you have any other ideas to problem 1.

I've noticed that for some mp3 files, it takes a little longer (1-2 sec)for the iDrive to read the embedded jpeg, so if you're scrolling through a list of songs, the album art may lag a bit behind the other file info.
USB flash drives are so cheap, why bother with the measly 30 gb hard drive in the car (not to mention you have to copy the files over)?

The issue is the same with the car's hard drive. It's not about scrolling through the songs list too fast. The album picture no longer changes until I select the specific file. It was working fine for months on the USB stick and the hard drive, something must have changed and I wonder what it is!

When I browse through the album/song lists using the iDrive controller, the album art changes with each turn of the controller; however, if a song is already playing and I scroll with the thumbwheel on the steering wheel, then the album art doesn't change until a selection is made by pressing the thumbwheel.

What about if a song is playing and you're using the iDrive controller to scroll through the list, will the album art change?

It does change on mine.

Maybe a software update on yours ?? I will have a look at mine and get back to you.

The dealer update the software on my car to the latest version a month prior to the pandemic and it was working fine until two weeks ago!
