Ride Quality Variability
Posted in another forum as well.
Has anyone experienced variability in ride quality/comfort with their 7? Some days it's smoother and some days it feels harsher with more vibration. I've tried driving off at different speeds after turning it on (to let the suspension "calibrate"), I've tried accounting for ambient temperature, I've tried waiting to change drive modes until after a minute or two, but I can't seem to find the common factor. Has anyone else had similar experience? '20 750 with air suspension and autobahn package |

Yeah I have noticed something a similar pattern, I drive off every morning in comfort plus, there's a particularly bumpy part of the motorway I drive on where on some days I barely feel anything, today for example the car was struggling to deal with the bumps and jumped about quite a bit. Same speed, same settings, different day. The ride is never really consistent. I'm on 20s as well.

Same here. Some days/journeys on the same road it’s much smoother than other times. Often there is a slight vibration felt through the seat. I think that 20’’ run flats are not ideal for comfort. I intend changing down to 19s shortly.

I’m actually on 18s and sometimes in comfort I find the ride to be too comfortable and kind of weird feeling actually. I feel like 19’s will be the sweet spot

I run 19” winters on mine, also with RFTs and there’s really not that much difference in the ride. I’ve got Executive Drive Pro which may make a difference, but it’s still comparing the two wheel sizes.
I’d stick with the 20s, they look so much better. |

Thanks for the comparison shots. I agree that the 20s look better but I’ve had this slight vibration since I got the car and I’m hopeful that a change of wheels and tyres might cure it.

Ride has been excellent on my '18 B7. Not really seeing any variability unless I play with the suspension settings. I almost always drive in Adaptive mode. I have 21s for summer and 20s for winter. Both are non-RF.

The same route every day. Sometimes the ride is terrific other times it’s brittle. Using comfort mode on all occasions. Could it be a software related issue?

I was worried about the 21” Alpina wheels. But it seems to me that the ride has been far better than anticipated. |

'21 750ix 20" Summer R/F Performance, Tire Pressure in 40's per door spec, Autobahn Pkg, operate in Comfort most of the time. Never experienced variability in ride comfort. Wonder if the height has changed as I believe one can adjust height of these cars (???). Consider ride comparable to previous 750s and superior to my air-ride Audi eTron. The eTron ride has been praised by reviewers, but 750 is superior and can still be tossed around in spite of of its size and weight.

I dont yet have a 7, but I have found that all cars with adaptive air suspensions have some degree of ride variability. The same is true of my Lexus LS460L with air suspension. If you think about it, it makes sense you have thousands of different combinations of damper settings and ride height combinations.
