Sound Fader - Can't move sound to rear

My kids were watching on the theatre screen recently and I tried to move the sound to the rear so it was less disruptive up front.

When transferring sound all the way to the rear using the fader, it was almost silent. The only sound (which was very faint) was coming from the rear headrests. Bringing the sound slightly forward using the fader resulted in quite a lot of sound in the front of the car.

My 1st thought was that the rear speakers weren't working. But when I looked back there, I was surprised to see there don't appear to be any speakers on the rear deck. Just a few in the rear door.

Is this the same for everyone? Are you able to isolate sound to the back of the car and not the front? For what it's worth, my car has the B&W diamond sound system and the rear lounge seating.

Thanks!
