ActiveHybrid Owners: A question about your mileage
To those of you who shelled out the approximately $15000 premium over the standard 7 model for the ActiveHybrid- have you enjoyed better or worse mileage than the 17 mpg city/26 highway touted by BMW? I'm trying to calculate in real-world terms how many miles I would have had to drive to recoup the additional cost of the hybrid. My standard 750i is getting 17.5 city/21.5 highway. How about you?

@Gassy: Remember that the ActiveHybrid 7 is geared more towards added power (boost) rather than focusing on getting better mileage, the better mileage is a bonus.
If BMW wanted to get better mileage out of the ActiveHybrid 7, they would have engineered it so that the car would be able to also run on electric power alone to REALLY lower the fuel consumption. Mind you, the car isn't light so running on battery alone probably wouldn't get you very far. Although, the ActiveHybrid X6 I think weights about the same and it runs on electric power alone, so it is possible...

I can't imagine for my needs wanting more boost. In sport mode, which admittedly is like willfully disregarding any concerns for mileage, there is enough torque and boost at all speeds for me. The base, non-hybrid model is a rocket for its size...

Speaking of the hybrid, has anyone else noticed a significant reduction in packages and options available for the ActiveHybrid 7 for 2011? Just modeled one on the bmwusa site, and noticed that the camera package isn't available. Neither is the driver assistance package (active cruise, lane departure warning, etc.) The rear entertainment package isn't available anymore either. What gives?
