Having issues with the eSIM on the 2023 760i
BMW is telling me that eSIM ONLY works with T-Mobile, but on the MyBMW app, you have a choice to use T-Mobile or AT&T as a provider. As my AT&T number is part of business plan I am not able to connect it. AT&T says if I get a Personal plan it should work, however, BMW is insisting that ONLT T-Mobile works on these cars....
So I called BMW genius and they said that both providers work...it is so confusing spending days being transferred back and forth between so many ..I gave up...anyone have thoughts or know anything abut this.... |

esim works with ATT. ut your bill will end up with 2 new numbers. One is for esim calls and the other, apparently, is for hot spot. Both ATT and BMW are woeful about esim information and training for their own people.

I have temporarily given up on the eSIM set up. I have Verizon as my provider and hopefully down the line I can set up the connection. I had the S Class before the 760, and it was a breeze to get the internet connection (AT&T) and did not require a new phone line. Having to pay a new phone line seems like extortion (in my humble opinion). I agree w the other commenter as I called AT&T and T mobile they gave me the run around than any practically useful solutions.

I'm fortunate that I use T-Mobile so setting up the eSIM was straightforward. Last edited by patrikr; 02-02-2023 at 07:09 PM.. |

I set up eSIM through T-Mobile but it doesn’t work at all. My TV is rendered useless because you can’t do anything on it till it’s connected to the internet. BMW & T-Mobile haven’t offered me any solutions just shrugged shoulders. Waiting to get an email back from bmw support within “10 business days”. I think the eSIM is going to end up getting recalled in all the G70s

I had all kinds of issues setting up esim with ATT. There is a real lack of information on how it works on the part of both ATT and BMW customer service. What finally worked for me was in the menu in the car, you to select the esim as the "mobile device" and then (at least on an iphone) the phone's bluetooth connection to "Accessory" and not to the bluetooth connection that has your VIN in it. Now I can use both Carplay and the esim. Nowhere is this explained. I would expect it works the same way with TMobile.
I also had tons of trouble setting up as my mobile number was still in the ATT system as tied to my prior car (that was totaled) and there was no way to fix that other than elevating the issue up the line at ATT customer service. They were actually very nice but at times just as frustrated as I was.

Verizon is now showing up as one of the available carriers. I tried setting it up but got a message from Verizon that either my "account or vehicle is not eligible for Verizon's Unlimted + In-Vehicle Wifi Plan."
Anyone successful in setting theirs up with Verizon? |

Conclusion, after having them all on the phone together is that Verizon says BMW has not downloaded the IMEI numbers into their system and that is the problem. I have no idea if this is the answer. I have a ticket out with BMW Assist to try to get this fixed. |

-Verizon said everthing is good on their end its BMW -BMW said at first my car # was linked to T Mobile and they need to call to tranfer to verizon. Second call they said has nothing to do with that and they would need to create a ticket. They thought it was an app issue. Solution For my VZW plan, I had one of the older plans that are no longer available (Beyond Unlimited +) I switched my plan to one of their newer plans and within minutes I was able to activate it on my account. |

I have had my i7 for less than 3 months and have had constant problems with the eSIM and the car’s connectivity.
This is the worst built BMW I have ever had. |

I just setup a new line on t-mobile's Go5G Plus and added my i7 on the Magenta Drive plan from the MyBMW app. I expected headaches due to all the posts on the forum but the whole experience was super painless. Activated right away with no fuss whatsoever.

eSim connects some of the time, other times it does not. When it connects, the wireless does not work all the time. Not good...going into service on the 29th. |

i7 here and I have AT&T and the e-sim rarely connects, no rhyme or reason, can not figure it out for the life of me. Brought it to dealer they said I had it setup wrong? Worked for a day then back to hit or miss. I did the OTA update and same issues.

just asking: do you get this error: bluetooth version no longer compatible while connecting your phone via BT or the eSIM reader?

eSim / AT&T / BMW X5e50
Truly the worst customer furstrating experience. I have spend a month with countless hours on phone and email with AT&T / BMW Genius and other teams to resolve this. This has never worked and is by far a total failure on their collective parts. I have asked for a refund and canceled my account, will try again. Don't even get me started on the X5e50 continued issues !
