So I noticed these were now available options after the dealership recently performed a software update. The problem is that I'm not able to select them, when I click down it remains blank with no check mark. This is one of those features I'd love to have in my G12, especially after getting used to the feature with an 840i loaner I had for a few days.

Anyone else seeing this problem. Car is a U.S. spec 2019 750i.

I believe that feature requires ID7, which has different hardware than ID6.

In that case I wonder why it would even show up. It definitely wasn't there before my software update.

The software is half-baked. For each configurable feature, there are at least two parts in the software coding: one to activate/enable the feature, and the other to make the feature visible in the menu. I would guess the update only made it appear in the menu, but didn't actually enable the feature.

Here's hoping they can make it fully functional somewhere down the line. I can't imagine that there's additional hardware needed for this to work. From what I understand it is based on the very same proximity sensors that detect your keyfob which allow you to lock and unlock doors with Comfort Access.

I remember reading that the key fob is supposed to shut off after laying horizontally for some time, in order to save battery; so the key may be different.

Same thing happened with my 7 series and the software update. Can confirm the buttons are not able to be selected.

I wonder if you'll get more traction on the other sub forums like M5 / 5 since they have more activity. I'd imagine the issue is similar in the G30s.

The hardware is there from what I know, it's all proximity related and it exists already in our cars. I wonder if it can be activated.

Apparently an error (the new lock / unlock with distance) that is corrected with yet another update (7.005.013) just out in Germany now. It also fixed some other stability issues. The new features are exclusive to the LCI models I’ve read.

Safe travels.

Some have tried to code it on G01, but so far no success story yet.

The lock/unlock looked very appealing (2020 LCI G12). However, I found the lock when walking away to be an annoyance when I was working in my garage. The lock when walking away was very sensitive, and would keep locking when I moved a short distance away even though I wanted to keep the car unlocked. Then, of course, it would unlock when I approached. Then the cycle would repeat. Very annoying. I ended up turning off the lock feature but keeping the unlock when approach, which is very handy. If, as noted, there is an update to this and if it changes the sensitivity (it ought to be user adjustable) I'll give it another try. If I did not have it already I am not sure I would go to the trouble of trying to code it.

Any way you can provide the codes associated with this feature, using Bimmercode to look up all the settings in BDC2 containing "CKT"? Thanks.

I don't know the codes. My car was equipped with the feature when I took delivery. Sorry. Maybe someone else here can supply them.

First time I'm seeing this on a 7 series.
Definitely not supposed to be there.
Probably some sneaky bits that snuck through.
I've been seeing some STRANGE behaviors with some of these software updates and they drive me NUTS.

All it takes is one code in HU NBT EVO to make the option appear in iDrive menu. Making the feature work, on the other hand, is a different story.

In your case the new comfort access 2.0 feature also requires a new key with motion sensor.
