What's the worst spill you've had in your car?

I never eat anything in my car, but sometimes drink coffee. Today, I had to pick up my girlfriend and wanted to get her Starbucks on the way. I also got a drink for myself and couldn't resist the whipped creme. So, I opened up the lid to have some but, when I was trying to close it, I put too much force on it and - boom - spilled it everywhere. I pulled over immediately and used my towel to wipe it up, then went to Walmart to get upholstery cleaner. I do feel bad that I littered when quickly throwing the drink out of the car, but it was in the moment. Seems my car was tainted for the first time, all because of wanting to see my girl, hahaha.

What is worst spill in your car by you or someone else?

P.S. Will the drink soak through the leather seat (G01 X3)?

I smacked my nose on the glass of my M6 reaching in to get something out of the passenger footwell and manged to put two drops of blood on the seat. My seats are ventilated so have lots of small holes in them and on just the right angle you can still see two areas where the sides of the holes are a bit darker in those two locations.

Garage List
1. Coffee in the passenger footwell. Most of it went on the carpeted floor mat.
2. Chinese take out leaked all over the luggage compartment.
(you know that brown gravy)
3. Leaking laundry detergent in the luggage compartment
4. Leaking Jet-Dri dishwasher drying agent in the luggage compartment

After all of these, you would think I would buy a rubber mat for the trunk.

Fortunately none of these happened in the BMW

A 12oz cup of Coca-cola I the passenger footwell... It was in my lunchbox after lunch at an autocross and I forgot about it... put the lunchbox on the floorboard on the way home and it spilled all over the floor mat and carpet. I'm normally Uber-careful about food/drink in the car. I do eat, but I'm the only one allowed to so its always on me to keep it clean. The carpet was a real bummer but got most of it cleaned up by a professional right after.

Plenty of coffee spills in the cup holders. Speed bumps, lids falling off.

Two car seats in the back so my kids spill all kinds of weird stuff. I have a back seat protector so always easy cleanup though.

A whole bottle of rum. I put the bottle on the floor in the back for the drive home from the bottle shop. It must have rolled forward and hit the seat mounts because the sweet aroma hit me as I was waiting at traffic lights. Shame about the rum but my car smelt awesome for a few days!

A drunken decision (i wasn’t driving) to pull into a Dunkin Donuts and grab a powdered donut and eat it in the car - - the powder is in those seat perforations until the end of time. I eventually sold the car

My big three spills:

1- I went around a corner and an unopened coke can lying on the floor went flying thru the air and hit the door witb such force it exploded all over like the an All-America high school QB on prom night.

2- beer bottle same circumstances as above

3- toddler projectile vomit. Yes, that can hit the windshield from the backseat.

In my previous 125D - Lifted a bag of shopping out from behind the drivers seat and a 500ml glass bottle of Fevertree Tonic water fell out, hit the seat runner and proceeded to crack resulting in a wet sticky footwell. Was less than happy especially as at the time I had owned the car for less than 24 hours.

A week after I installed M3 front control arms on my 135 we were on way to JFK airport to start a vacation. It was early morning and still dark and we stopped at Starbucks for coffees for the road. Driving on the parkway about 65mph or so and I reached into the cup holder to take a sip of the still very hot coffee. When I got near my mouth the soft cup crushed in my hand dumping the full cup of steaming stuff right in my lap. Not only did it surprise me but it hurt like hell. I took my off the road for the second or so to deal with this painful problem and quickly looked up seeing the car head for a 45* hit on concrete divider between lanes. At that point I was within a few short feet of slamming it hard. One handed I jerked the wheel hard to the right and the car thankfully reacted immediately. Must have been with 2’ of the barrier and closing fast when it turned. To this day I say the control arms saved the day, I don’t think the car would have reacted that quickly without the camber and stiffer bushings. I had the seats power cleaned when we got home and it worked very well.

Large vanilla protein shake after gym that tipped over (E39 cup holders) into the passenger seat and between the seat and center console.

The smell of vanilla and spoiled milk plagued my car for about two weeks.

How fast did you clean this? Did you use upholstery cleaner? Im afraid that my drink i spilled will get carpet too dried so its permanent if left too long

In college I was taking a turkey in a roasting pan to a pot luck dinner and some of the drippings sloshed out into the passenger side foot well. Soaked into the carpeting and the foam pad in the corner - smelled like something rotting in there for weeks

Nothing major in the M3 - some coffee, but with weather tech mats it wasn’t hard to wipe up and the tray style of the mat meant it didn’t leak all over the carpet.
