750 Perfect Hight Level!

I wish someone can explain this phenomena for me!

Take a look at the attached pictures, this morning I found my 750 at the perfect height level, I wish this car can stay in this height level all the time. There's days (most days) were the car look like an X5 with how high it is and then once in a blue moon I see today's level.

I would love to know what is going on with air suspension of this car. The dealer checked them before and reprogrammed the car and there was no issue. Why the hell did BMW raised the G-series this much? The S-Class has an air suspension but it's not as high as BMW. A buddy of mind has an S-Class with AMG package, when parked next to my car it looks way lower. This is stupid, BMW should be able to lower it via programming.

I wish there's a way to keep it to this level but without using any springs to lowering it!

Theres a way of lowering it through coding or you can get lowering links. They trick your car into thinking its higher so it lowers itself, they're probably the best option.

Doesn’t it normally raise up when parked to ease getting in/out? Mine does, but not sure if that’s because I have Executive Drive Pro and the camera sees kerbs and raises the suspension or if they all do it. Have you tried putting it into Sport before switching the engine off?

Was the car in Sport mode when it was turned off? If you turn off the ignition while the car is in any mode other than Sport, the suspension will be at the default height, which is actually a little easier on ingress/egress.

It does raise up when I put it in park, even if I'm in Sport Mode. Sometimes when in SM, the car stays low after I switch the engine off and there's other days were it raises itself.

No the car was in comfort mode and when I came out it was in a high position as usual, the next morning I found it in the low position.

I know when you leave the car parked for several days it drops and this happens all the time when I'm traveling but in yesterday's case, the car was parked for ~24 hrs.

It is funny! I just don't understand why BMW designed the air suspension this way with the G-series! The car doesn't need to be this high...

If the height can be adjusted via software, I wonder if the dealer would be willing to lower it for those who would like their cars a little lower. At least I would have the piece of mind that nothing will go wrong, I don't like cars that are too low but in the same time I don't like it as high as our cars are. I remember my 740i Sport back in 2000, it had the perfect height and stance. The car looked really sporty and still had a comfortable ride even without the air suspension.

Someone tried the dealer and got denied. Technically would be outside of spec.

Has anyone noted discrepancy in front ride different between the front driver and passenger sides? I measured the distance from the wheel arch to the edge of the wheel and there was a 10 mm difference between the two sides.

Because the system sometimes takes in account the driver weight. The car's height module adjusts the car height very often even if by small amounts sometimes depending on the mode you are in/height detected by sensors, road surface etc... so if from time to time your car is not the same height on all 4 wheels dont take it seriously at it will adjust.

My butt tells me the ride is appreciatively stiffer in lowered state.

The cars suspension does drop automatically when parked for a certain period of time and raises again when you start up.

I don't see why everyone wants to lower their G11s though, I personally think it looks great how it is, a bit more raised, chunky, almost tank like look. Especially with the suspension in the higher setting. Had a guy lower his by 40mm just a few weeks back when I went in to do some coding. Not to my taste at all.

40mm is not my taste either the car would look weird. I want mine to be the sport mode height all the time even when I'm in comfort mode (similar to the B7 height)! I just don't like how high it is... When it's that high, it loses the aerodynamic and sporty look!

40mm is just wayy too much and tackey. A mild balnace drop just makes the car look 10x better.

I have opposite taste. I don't like a raised, chunky, tank like look at all. That's the reason I want to get a BMW G12 instead of a previous body Lexus LS, it looked fat and chunky, hate it. I even think the MB W222 looks a bit too fat and chunky, maybe due to its down-sloping trunk and arched roof line. I prefer the sleek look of long, wide, and low.

How low is this one?
https://audiocityusa.com/shop/images...ries_02-01.jpg
I came across that in Google Images and that's when I decided I need a G12.

Looks clean. The ride quality of course is impacted. I'm riding almost as close to that.

Is the owner of the attached Google image a member on this forum? I would love to see a front picture of the bumper, it looks like he added a lip to the bumper!

If you are a member on this board, please post few pictures of the front and rear bumpers in case you modified the rear as well. Thanks

You can clearly see here that the tire sidewall is too small here, On my car I have 21" Wheels but Instead of OEM BMW 245/35/21 front and 275/30/20 rear, I went with 255/35/21 front and 295/30/21 rear just like Alpina B7 has.

Provides a taller sidewall, looks better and most important doesnt sacrifice the ride quality nearly as much as the smaller one does.

13M5F10 Car is looking awsome
