See some 2020 740s in local market. Both Reasonable equipped with professional driving, premium pkg, M sport etc.
One 29k miles for about 40k USD warranty just expired. The other 39k miles CPO for 42k with extended warranty expiration in 1.5 years. Some tires replaced already. Has executive pkg and front massage too. Given budget is similar, which one should I pick? Thx in advance! Like to keep the baby for at least 3 years at 10k miles each year. Worry about maintenance cost difference between the two. |

Also, I would be reticent to own this car outside of warranty unless you like/want to work on it yourself or have a good indy shop you like working with. It’s not if it needs work, but when. There is so much on this car, and when looking at parts, they are not cheap, nor easy to get to, so labor costs a lot. At the end of the day, it’s still a $100k+ vehicle you have to maintain.

Bought mine with similar milage a year and a half ago and have since put almost 50k km on it. All that has needed changing was transmission oil pan and front tension struts. I have done more, but that's because I wanted to, not because it was due or failed.
Also remember that add on warranties are like casinos. The house always wins. No arguments against peace of mind with active warranty. Bare in mind you are looking for a vehicle with B58 engine, which is rather bulletproof if maintained properly. |

Unless you're getting a huge discount or a big difference in the condition of the car, I'd personally rather have the CPO'd car. But how much you drive and plan to keep the car should factor in too.
