Interior smell?

Coming over here from the f90 M5 forum, in search of what makes the 2021 750 smell like it does.

Prior to 2021, there was the ambient air option, but that was discontinued for 2021.

I was in the dealership yesterday to order my replacement '21 M5, and sat in a 2021 750 M Sport they had on the floor, and it still smells amazing.

Is it the leather? My current '18 M5 has extended Merino leather and doesn't smell like the 750.

Does Nappa smell different than Merino?

You should have asked someone in the dealership as to what product they use to clean the showroom cars. I'm sure they have to clean all the smudges etc...as well as for COVID-19. Then you'd be getting the info you want direct from the "horses mouth".

I did, but all 7 series smell like this, even before covid and ones that have been out of the dealership for quite a while.

The answer I got was it was the ambiance air, but that was discontinued for 2021s, which I didn't realize until after I left.

For some reason it’s available in the UK as part of the Comfort Plus pack with massage seats, comfort glass and seat ventilation

Maybe they are using the BMW air freshener sticks that are in the BMW accessory catalog. It’s slightly different than the built in ambient air system...but can be used in any BMW:
