Painted My Calipers

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I missed out on the Blue M calipers when buying my car as the one I wanted with these was just sold. The car I bought came with the std calipers in grey with the BMW logo ,Anyway decided to paint them myself .Chose “Le Mans Blue Metallic “ as the colour which although not an exact match looks very close in my mind.

Anyway here’s a picture , the overspray on the discs burnt off with the first couple of stops so all good there. Really pleased how they turned out .

How difficult was it? Also, did you source the paint from the BMW dealership, how did that work? How'd you apply the "M" logo? Really interested in doing this myself!

Fairly easy I have done other cars previously .Its not difficult I used a brush and paint is designed to dry with a smooth gloss finish. I bought the paint on EBay through a U.K. seller. He has a range of various BMW colours that are specifically made for use on calipers . I also bought the decals on EBay easy enough to find , they are designed to withstand the heat. I applied 2 coats of the paint let it dry and then applied the decal. I then sprayed a couple of coats of clear to finish off.

I freshened up my two weeks ago a bit in a more discreet style.

Brushed front and rear in glossy black, with a new red cap.

I'll snap a photo when I get the chance. Just a caveat - it's not as nice as your paint job lol
