Drivetrain malfunction - '16 750i xDrive

Opinion question:

Got a drivetrain malfunction warning today. Car seems to be misfiring. I have CPO warranty until June. I also have Dinantronics Elite V1 (with wiring harness) on the car.

Leave it installed before taking in, or remove and then take it in?

Worried I could run into CPO warranty issue if I leave it installed. I honestly leave it in bypass most of the time.

As an aside, a local Dinan dealer I talked to said it's unlikely to be the unit causing issues as it's one of the least aggressive tunes and that my particular car runs into turbo and vacuum issues around 70-80k miles. I'm at 72k.

Thoughts? Thanks.

Is there a way to de-activate the unit and see how the car functions? I know on JB4 units I can set it to 0 and the unit is purely passive.

If you don't know your SA or whether the dealer is DINAN friendly, I'd personally remove it and not have to deal with the hassle of the dealership making quick assumptions that the unit is the culprit.

Thanks for the insight.

I have it in bypass and the issue still occurs.

I think I may remove it. I have an appointment at a Dinan dealer to have it removed next week but it's a lot of hassle jockeying cars around without getting a loaner so just figured I'd do more diligence in this group.

Local Indy removed Dinan. So far no continued issue. Perhaps that was culprit. Will update in future in case beneficial to others.
