Picked up my car yesterday! But...

I totally fell in love with "my" car as soon as I saw it. I thought after reading all the gushing and hype on this board I would be a bit disappointed. But I was impressed more with the car than I ever thought, it is really truly a remarkable machine. Now, the bad part...a few hours after getting the car I get rear-ended

Unbelievable. I was stopped on the freeway in traffic and I was the 4th car up from a car plowing into the back of stopped traffic. Luckily no one was hurt in the chain of cars, by my kids were freaked out as they were in my car. In reality, it was just a bump at about 10 MPH, enough to scratch and dent the bumper. It's not horrible, but it is noticeable. I just can't believe the thrill of finally driving my car was dampened by this mishap.

But, I'm kind of over it now, what's done is done. I'll post pics of the car soon.

OMG I feel for you mate. After the anticipation I have been experiencing, if that happened to me I would be psycho.

Dude, I know how you feel. I was rear ended when my car was 5 days old and I had to do without it for a month while it was fixed. You're much calmer that I was. I hope everything works out okay - and glad to hear that everyone is alright. Keep us posted.

Man! That sucks. But glad everyone is ok!

Sounds like the car is ok also...bodywork, etc...just some paint. Don't worry...all of us will have some dings and scratches as some point to deal with...you just got over the first ding..now its down hill

Enjoy your ride :rocks:

Yikes sorry to hear about the accident.

Hmmm the new e90's seem to be magnets for accidents.
I think it's too many people wanting to get a better look at it.

I think some of it may be that the brakes are so good in a car like this that sometimes we can stop when other people can't or don't leave enough distance.

Thanks for the sympathy guys. I cleaned up the bumper this morning and it doesn't look too horrible. At least it won't look like I'm driving a wreck until I get it fixed.

kt157,

Yes, that's exactly where I got hit. 580 West just past the Hopyard exit. I HATE that intersection  .

I bought from East Bay BMW. I have dealt with them on my last 2 cars and all my service. They're top notch. As far as price, let's say I got a good deal but I may have gotten better. But actually, that's not what I was after. These guys have done a lot for me from a business standpoint so I wasn't about to quibble over a few hundred $.
