China also happens to be one of the larger growing car markets for this segment (as well as the uber-luxury Maybach) whereas this segment is decreasing in interest in favor of SUV's in the states. I'm sure they know their target demographic far better than I do. I'm just not sure I'll be in it. But if all the manufacturers move that way, I guess I'll
Have no choice.
Yep, its a game of follow the leader sadly, and everyone is going touchscreen after Tesla, its only a matter of time until BMW does so as well, and by the looks of spied cars like the 2-Series Active Tourer (spied with no HVAC controls or iDrive knob) it might be sooner than later.

Bought a new Civic for a kid.

Lesson learned is that you really do need a knob/button for (a) radio volume and (b) temperature adjustment. Even with the “haptic” feedback, it’s still hard to take your eyes off the road for long enough to adjust those settings on a touchscreen.

Agreed, the muscle memory and feedback of physical controls just can't be beat.

It’s just easier to twist a volume dial or a temperature dial when driving than to be staring at a screen and tapping against it.

I am not claiming I got the best deal on my '20 leased in Oct '19, but at that time getting 10% off MSRP for a car ordered to my specs was not bad. If I am spending that kind of money on a new car, I want to get exactly what what I want.
You can get deals off of ordered cars too.
I got $29000 off on an ordered 760.

Those are great deals! Nothing like that was available to me in summer '19 when I ordered. I thought I was doing ok at 10%. Maybe I didn't push hard enough.

The 7 can't win a comparison like this.

If it's too sporty, they'll say it's not comfortable like the S-Class.

If it's too cushy, they'll say it's lost it's way and not the "ultimate driving machine".

It's bound to happen when a sporty car manufacturer makes a luxury limousine.

The F02 was the best drivers 7 series. The G12 lost it's way.

Wondering if I can find your kind of deal at May 2021?
I'm interested in ordering a new 740/750.
