G11 brakes replacement

Just got a new message saying 2.5k miles until my front brake pads replacement.
Do I go for OEM pads or something else? What would you advise me ?
Guess a new sensor will be replaced at the same time.

Thanks

I've always hated OEM BMW pads due to dusting. Ceramic pads last a super long time and have up to 80% less dust. Check into EBC Redstuff or Akebono. Recommend BuyBrakes.com. I just bought the EBC for my Alpina.

How's the stopping power? My wife did ceramic on her Q7 to quiet it down and it felt like I had to stand in the pedal.

So there is a warning mechanism for the break pads! When I bought mine I was looking in the iDrive and couldn't the info on the front and rear which I had in both of my previous 5-series!

Stopping power is very good and better than OEM. I have only installed the fronts so far. Pedal feel is firmer due to pads being harder material.

There is a warning mechanism (sensor) just like every other BMW I have owned but the brakes do not show up in the idrive (CBS) until the sensor is worn and triggered. Evidently the CBS is very inaccurate and BMW decided to remove it from the normal CBS maintenance in idrive.

Thanks gents. this is very odd. I now have 2k miles on it without even driving the car. The OEM pads are super expensive and not worth the specs. Guess what! The ones fitted by BMW are not even BMW but BOSCH. Why ??
I will find some EBCs or Zimmermans for now until I sell the car later on this year.
Thanks again for the input.

Tons of components on BMWs are made by Bosch. Same with Audi and MB.

Bosch is one of the largest German conglomerates. Not that dissimilar to GE in US. They make tons of stuff.
