How Many Miles Per Tank Are You Getting?

Dealer recently replaced all spark plugs and a coil.

I'm now lucky if I cross 200 miles per tank!

I e-mailed the service manager twice and left a voicemail message.

No f'n response!

I have no doubt I had better range prior.

Could something be off tuning/calibration-wise?

Car seems to be driving fine.

200 f'n miles per tank now! ARGH!

What is your AVG MPG & AVG MPH per tank? Having that information (or at least tracking it and keeping notation) would go a long way in trying to figure out what is going on with your car and if your MPG is way off. Again, don’t forget to keep track & maintain your average MPH as well as your average MPG per tank.

Did the dealer reset adaptation after they performed the service?

My mpg’s are averaging less than 10.

I believe a more accurate gauge is to drive until near empty, fill tank and reset the trip counter.

I also reset the mpg’s indicator, but find that the mpg’s displayed continually change / vary.

I’m filling about to 21 gallons each time I fill up. I’m particular and like to run until near empty, fill up fully, always at same station. I also reset trip counter and mpg’s indicator.

I usually see about 9.8 mpg’s on the indicator, which is putting me at about 210 miles for range. That said, I’m lucky if I get 200.

I'm not certain if the dealer reset any adaptations, but what you state may very well be the issue!

Am I able to reset the adaptation for this?

I think only the dealer can reset adaptation. I would bring the car back in ask for a master tech and the service manager. Goodluck. They should have fixed it right the first time for you!

Issue with Plastic on Gas Lines causing fuel to leak

I had issues with gas leaking from fuel lines that had been removed and replaced for other maintenance.

I was told that there are plastic coatings on the fuel lines that crack or break and need to be peeled completely off before putting the fuel line back on so that they do not leak.

My mpg was showing between 14.8 and 15.6 mpg but when I filled up and check it I was getting closer to 10 mpg - they removed the pastic coating from my fuel lines and put them back on and mileage went back up and getting close to 300 miles per tank now.

Hope this helps.

I've been driving a lot more moderately since gas here in upstate NY rose by about .70 cents a gallon since Inauguration Day. I've been Averaging around 300 a tank.
