There's a new Omen coming out.
I like the original one the best and I don't think this one will change that, but we'll see. Will at least give it a chance.

You may want to read what Ridley Scott and James Cameron had to say about this entirely new vision:
https://movieweb.com/alien-romulus-ridley-scott-james-cameron-reaction/ Basically, they loved it! If it's good enough for them, it's damn sure good enough for me and fans of the franchise. |

I thought Covenant and Promethius were excellent and were the best since Aliens, especially the story themselves. The Romulus trailor is a worry, all i see is a movie with nothing but darkness and a ripley wannabe. Not good.

Nothing has ever come close to Alien and Aliens within the franchise.
Prometheus had promise, IMO it fell pretty flat. The amount of disbelief required to look past the poor dialogue, the stupidity of the characters actions, the ultra convenient origin of the xeno, the backstory of the engineers' motivation, was just too much, too distracting and annoying. |

Ya, I'm not as critical of the Aliens franchise as some. For sure A LOT of the characters did some outrageously stupid things but I appreciate that they tried to expand the story. I liked Resurrection a lot and felt sorry for the hybrid.

Liked it as well. Also felt sorry for the 'baby.' So did Ripley.

Spent some 40 freakin hours on planes this past 3 weeks so watched a few.
Oppenheimer: Very good, didn't feel as long as it was (that's what she said). Lead actor was superb, as was RDJ. All The President's Men (1976): Stand out performance from Dustin Hoffman but the movie basically consisted of Redford calling random people for 2 hours only to get all he needed from deepthroat after he ran out of patience. Weird. Take Him To The Greek Two lead actors are a good fit and Byrne is always worth a watch. Had some LOL moments, good airplane fodder as you fly over the abyss between Hawaii and Australia where the flight map seemingly sits still for 9 hours. |

We watched this last night and I'll be honest it was a bit of a disappointment. The acting wasn't great and the story just seemed to miss the mark. It wasn't awful but I think the original was better, I might have to rewatch it just to compare.

Never stop being you, I love it.
I didn't watch it yet but I'm guessing I'll agree with you and Murf. It's extremely hard to top the original, it was so good and had everything a red-blooded man could want.

I read a hilarious review saying that McGregor wasn't convincing basically cuz he failed to act like himself.
