When you start feeling sick
Had to go to the hospital recently and fairly certain I picked up a virus while there (shocker). (Tested for covid, negative (although could have been).
Anyway, if you feel yourself starting to get sick, what are the things you do to keep it away? I usually feel like resting, but I always forget to take vitamins or whatever. Are there specific vitamins or foods or tea, looking for ideas. I used to load up on "wellness formula" but I can never seem to remember to take them, or swallow garlic, or Vitamin C in time to keep the cold or virus from getting worse. |

Many things are caused by vitamin D deficiency, you might want to get checked (don't assume they did). I just recently found out my levels were extremely low even though I work outside. Vit D malabsorption is a genetic issue in my family. I now have to take a once a week 50k IU dose to help boost me up. I had candida that no meds were able to kill, took a bunch of natural remedies that target that and it finally cleared up. People will often overlook the natural route and go straight for the big pharma meds, I did and it has destroyed my system. The NIH has endless studies supporting what I take, also ran by my Dr. I can be around ill people and not catch what they have while others do. |

Those Emergen-C packets + zinc seem to do the trick.

I assume we’re talking about a cold.
Zicam every 2 hours (or whatever instructions say) + vitamin C + tons of water + soup / eat well and as much sleep as possible. It’s important to start immediately upon feeling the slightest symptom / precursor like a scratchy throat I always get the day before I start really feeling it. Alka Seltzer cold for symptom relief when sick. I caught a cold a few months ago for the first time in at least 5 years. Peaked after 3 days and was completely gone in a week. No lingering cough or other symptoms.

I usually just start taking zinc and vitamin c. I already take vitamin d daily since I'm deficient otherwise. Sometimes it seems to ward it off (or maybe I didn't really have anything) and sometimes it doesn't.

2 hrs in ER waiting room, 2 hours er bed
Some good tips I will look into. Definitely felt the urge to go to gym sauna, didn’t but should have. Hit the gym hard after the day I got home from hospital and felt something coming on that night, chills, hot, fever symptoms but no fever until day 2 then around 100.5. It was weird, drained all my energy, lost 5 lbs. Now i’m back in gym and left with a little cough & chest congestion. Ordered more airborne, zicam (thanks for reccomendation) and Mucinex. |

Nearly every morning with me is one of each tablet..Turmeric,collagen,pure bee pollen capsule, cod liver oil capsule and before breakfast a glass of filtered water with apple cider vinegar. Sometimes half a sliced orange, small apple and blueberries with two dabs of Onken natural yoghurt, definitely no fry ups for breakfast in this household.
I prefer cycling to walking/running and do this midday when traffic is at a minimum. |

Many good recommendations above, but don't forget about your gut health at times like this. Probiotics (if you're a pill person), kefir, kombucha (regular or hard)
