New Alpina B7 preview
BIMMERPOST NEWS New Alpina B7 preview We've shown you the spy photos of the new G11/G12 Alpina B7 undergoing testing, but we've taken it a step further and digitally uncovered the next B7 by way of this rendering. The new Alpina B7 may feature more than 600 horsepower (vs 540 hp of current B7). The BMW M CEO recently reaffirmed that there will be no M7 coming, so the Alpina B7 will once again represent the top performing 7 Series for this newest generation. |

Don't think I'll wait on the day that we see something truly different from Alpina. It's the same treatment, all the time.

The guy that buys an Alpina B7 is typically not the same guy that wants an M7.
Those are two different psychographic groups. The B7 is gorgeous in a toned-down and very upscale Germanic "Q-Ship" manner. But BMW AG needs to get real about the M7. Limited market bandwidth, but that is why it could be a very serious 650-hp special-order only BMW M special. |

yup! there was one for sale at a chevy dealer by me a few years old at less than half the new sticker on it. The guy probably traded it in to get more features in a chevy tahoe than bmw offers these days.

Agreed if it ain't broke why fix it? Until BMW decides on making the M7 then they will have to change it to compete.

My goodness... I must be getting old. Not only have I loved Alpina's for over a decade, I'm actually growing fond of the 7, fully dressed. Hopefully they will eventually incorporate a walking stick/walker for us "old men."

All I know is it took a few hundred miles for me to learn how to drive my e60 m5 before I could pull at all on my friends b7, I'm setting there with 212 performance settings to his 2 and he left me at the start a few times, until I could properly launch, they are fast! I did run him couple times in the m4 although, whole other story, kind of.

You'd think there'd be an M7 with all of the AMG effort in this space (S63 & S65). BMW and MB seem to go model for model in every other area of their product lines.

To be honest, those who want that kind of car for that sort of scratch will gravitate towards a rolls or bentley. even though a loaded up s65 is almost the same kind of money it's still not in the same league, perhaps this is why bmw is unwilling to make a M7

The cheapest rolls Royce is still a fair bit pricier than the S65 AMG. BMw might think a V12 M7 would steal sales from the RR but they seem to have no problem stuffing the lower end of their line up with similar cars that are hardly a few thousand $$ apart in terms of price

I tend to think M5, M6 GC, B6 xDr GC, B7, and 760Li pretty much cover the bases for large +$100G sports sedans that aren't 750s... And I agree that the purpose and method behind ALPINAs are quite different than M. It's a more mature, understated personality.
