Finally got all of mine. The trunk and hood are OEM, and the wheel center caps and airbag are from Amazon. The knockoffs look close enough IMO.

WoW!! I have an F30 335i M-Sport as well with the same wheels.
My M-Sport is a lighter blue Estoril Blue, so the 50th Anniversary Roundels should look good. I have the aftermarket center wheel caps and steering wheel emblem. Waiting on the BMW OEM emblems, that are backordered.

What PNs did you receive?

Cheers

IND has them in stock, no wait. Not sure about the part numbers because they're part of a prepackaged kit and not listed.

Nice Andrew! What was the process to remove and apply the roundel on the steering wheel?

It's just a sticker lol. Peel the backing and off you go!

Maybe it is just me but I don't understand putting the 50 th Anniversary roundel on a car that BMW hasn't assign an M in the model number.

This was a no-cost option on my new Z4. I debated to add them or not, and decided they would work with the San Francisco Red. I like them and glad I did. If I'd gone with a less traditional color, like frozen grey metallic for example, I probably would have gone with the traditional roundel emblems.

I can’t speak for everyone else but for me it’s about the celebration of the BMW milestone for all owners - those who have owned a M or not. 2022 marks the year of cars like the 3.0 CSL and later the M1. These legends (and the people who made them) are what laid the path for the program to exist today. Elements of those cars pay homage to things like the colored stripes on my car, m badges or 50th roundel.

I can understand how people have passion to things they like and wanting to share, more than people who look down on them for existing.

Looks good on red. Have any wider shots? Those new Z4s with the b58 are fire!

It’s not just you.
But pickle showed me BMW is offering these as an option on every model in Europe, as long as it has an M package. Even a 2er tourer can have it. So I am not bashing anyone.

Since they were not ever used on any BMW car—M or not—prior to this year, it looks like freedom of choice to me. I still have a drawer full of the cloisonné M-sport roundel emblems from decades ago when we put them on our BMW motorcycles. Back then, there were no "M" motorcycles, but historically they had won more races than the cars.

By the same logic one could say any M car that wasn't produced this year shouldn't wear those roundels since it's not an M car produced during the 50th anniversary.

IMO, sporting these roundels isn't anything like M badging a non-m car or putting alpina badges on a non-alpina. It's just celebrating the brand heritage.

The M brand heritage, which most BMWs don’t share. That’s the point.

You can literally option them on bmw's website on non-M cars so…don't know what to tell you there. But If y'all wanna gate keep, go for it.

Not that I want to go into a whole conversation about what a real M car is and how bmw bastardized the M badge for sales, but an m340i isn't a true M car. Engine and vin prove that quite easily. Yet if bmw is offering the 50th anniversary roundels to it, it seems as though the roundels are not exclusive to M cars. That's my point. But if you guys wanna get mad that people are using the roundels on non-M's then by all means go ahead, it isn't going to make me take mine off.

BMW counts an M340i in its M car sales. So I think putting an 50 Year M roundel on it is ok. As I said earlier I understand putting this roundel in any BMW with a factory M in its designation.

I've vacillated buying a set off of Amazon for just this reason... I don't have an //M car (or even a //Marketing car) so worry about ending up on the fake badge thread!!! :-)

The badges sure do look gorgeous on the cars above though!!!

Thanks for the compliment. Don't want to hijack this thread, so here's some wider shots in the recent delivery day thread:
