03/2024.40 OTA fixes?

Anyone know the details on this upgrade? Can’t seem to find the in depth explanation or if we can see anything obvious. One of these days I’m going to wake up and have auto door open upon walk up but not today.

I'm not seeing any OTA upgrades (12/22 build). Is there anything official from BMW about what's in it and whether it applies to all G70s? (logically, some updates could be solely for certain VINs or only for electric or ICE).

i7 here. Just says it enhances your vehicle’s existing functionality. Maybe it’ll give me better mileage cause right now I’m averaging 2.1mpkw and I’m supposed to be getting 3! I’m driving it like a little old lady too!

I7 here and update description is very generic: "...Upgrade enhances your vehicle's existing functionalities..." Also, after seeing the post above re: time zones, it seems to be working correctly now. No changes otherwise noticeable to me so far.

Took 2 days and 3 drives for 03/2024.40 to upload/install on my '24 i7. Notice zero differences, and notes and info on this version are blank.

There is no noticeable changes with 03-24. Not every update brings new features or changes.

I am really BUMMED that 03/2024.40 did NOT fix the SYNC issue. My '24 i7 is the first BMW I have ever owned with Climate Control SYNC that will not hold.

Our current XM and M3...SYNC stays until you turn it off.

i4, iX, i5, X5, B8, M6, three other 7 Series and countless other BMWs...Climate Control SYNC does not deactivate when you turn the car off.

Is it just the light on the SYNC "button" or actual SYNC functionality that doesn't stick?

On mine, even though the SYNC isn't highlighted as being on, adjusting the temp or fan speed for the driver side still adjusts it for all zones across drives and it's just the UI that isn't showing that SYNC is enabled.

When the SYNC light is not highlighted, it still seems to adjust front driver and passenger temp/fan speed etc.

But the rear passenger zones are not synced, until I hit the SYNC "button".

I keep front zones to AUTO 70F, medium fan speed always.

Without SYNC, rear climate keeps defaulting to 72F, low fan speed.

The only way to get there rear HVAC to match the front HVAC is to manually highlight SYNC for every drive!!!

Have never, ever had a BMW do this!

Leave an official complaint with BMW trough your dealer.
They've already responded to ours that its "by design" and "no fixed planned". Official statement from HQ.

Obviously not enough people notice this / complain about it to be a real issue.
The issue is, the both back-seats reset their temp (22 degrees in EU), regardless of your SYNC state. Causing the SYNC to reset to "off". This happens when the car hits "hibernate" state. Mostly 5 minutes after closing, or later depending on you being near the vehicle and temperature of the battery.

You can see it switch before it hibernates when you mount a camera inside the vehicle.
When you enter, your SYNC is OFF. Due to the driver-side SYNC'n, most people do not notice their backseats are warming-up to 22 degrees lol.

Edit: I checked my e-mail with BMWGroup and if you really would like to push the issue, its case #2254624
the more the merrier

I don’t have my 760 anymore but I complained about this every time I took it to the dealership and their response was “that’s how it works on the new 7 series”. So dumb…

I remember something like this years ago with my 7 Series and RR Ghost...another one of those "That's how it works".

When someone would sit in the back seat, the rear headrests would go all the way up. It looked awful and drove me nuts seeing them in the rear view mirror!

Annoying back seat default temp on i7 and iX

Yes, this small detail is very annoying and should be a very simple software fix. Its exactly the same on BMW i7 and BMW iX.

1. Back seat temp should stay at last setting. If it has to default to something, I would choose back seat climate OFF. When switching ON it should default to SYNC temp and fan speed with front seats.

2. Efficient mode as default. Why not allow the switch enable default to Efficient Mode as other Modes?

3. HUD and Driver display when switching modes. Why cant the displays remember the last settings on HUD and Driver display? For example, using Efficient Mode on a long Highway drive with Lane assist in HUD and Consumption on Driver Display. When entering a city, switch to Personal Mode with Map on HUD and AR view on Driver Display.

All three issues are simple software fixes that simplify everyday driving. Very annoying, for example when making a charge stop on a long trip: Start, set Efficient mode, set back seat temp or switch off, set HUD content, set Driver display content. On a long trip with several stops, you have to do this procedure several times
