2010 F01 740i CIC software update

Hi all,

The CIC entertainment/navigation system in my car hasn't been updated since it left the factory. I tried using BMW's software update website with my VIN, but it says "The VIN number you have entered could not be found. Please check your VIN. Contact your local BMW dealer if the problem persists.".

However, if I enter my other car, a 2010 F11 530d with an identical system, it finds the VIN and says there's no further software updates.

I have contacted BMW customer services and they are extremely unhelpful.

Is there any way to update the CIC other than something like Bimmertech's software update for $300, please?

No there are no other updates for CIC just like your 20111 5 series. The only thing you can update at this point (without installing a different system) are map updates. And you can get that for a lot less than going through BMW.

If you are using your VIN to look for updates...make sure you are not mixing things up by using incorrect alpha digits or numerical integers. For instance I/1, O/0/Q, S/5, V/U, Z/2

Apologies for confusion, I had already found an update on BMW's website, downloaded it and applied it to the F11. However, the same isn't available for the F01, it just says VIN not found. Have checked for any mistakes in the VIN, but there isn't any, unfortunately.
